Midi patchbay with preset function?
Hi,
I need an app that can connect midi devices and save the connections as presets. In the meantime I use Claudia from KXStudio ,but have to run Jack (with dummy audio) and a2j bridje.
Is there any simple app that can save presets of alsa mid connections?

Re: Just found a new DAW on KVR
There is always room for new DAWs . As long people are different and have different workflow ,new DAWs are welcomed . Since there many choices I expect something new to work out-of-the-box with minor bugs. I was even sceptical on installing ,since I am used to double-click a deb package.... Thanks f...

Re: Just found a new DAW on KVR
Downloaded it,tried to install ,package creation failed, did it manually , installed the deb package ,launched it , could not configure my audio hardware , unistalled it. Someone else maybe has time to configure it properly and review it. Nowadays ,I remove everything that is not meant to be a usefu...

Re: wireless driver ,jack and xruns
Still xruns occur and still recommend to simply turn of the wireless card ,especially if recording. But as I mentioned before I need wifi midi and audio so it was the only way to get descent performance. Keep in mind that these tweaks are deep mods, and I don't have any special knowledge. If any li...

Re: wireless driver ,jack and xruns
UPDATE: I made some progress with satisfactory results. But still I get some xruns so DO NOT proceed ,unless for testing proposes. First I removed the "irqbalance" package if installed. Then open terminal and from the output of cat /proc/interrupts look at the IRQ of your soundcard and the ...

Re: wireless driver ,jack and xruns
No, it's usb and sometimes I use the onboard. The problem is I use the wifi for midi and audio in many cases.
Thanks anyway @ssj71 for your suggestions

Re: wireless driver ,jack and xruns
Sorry for the (almost a year) bump , just sharing my experience: I recently figured how to set the irq prio as low as I could for the wifi. But it's pointless . Same dropouts. Only way is to disable wifi. Is it a linux kernel thing? The wifi driver fault? I don't get it. I suppose it has to do with ...

Re: Setting multiple audio interfaces with Jack2 (help!)
To be honest I didn't test this enough.Maybe if an onboard card has spdif out and a pci card like maudio2496 has digital in slave clock ability ,maybe there is a chance.

Re: Removing commercial software from the repositories
+1 for Reaper.
It doesn't have special dependencies (only wine) ,it's small and efficient app.(lighter than ardour ,but commercial)

Re: Setting multiple audio interfaces with Jack2 (help!)
@tatch
It is possible.Just did it after hours searching
I installed zita-ajbridge but I though it was only for jack1. BUT if choose in Cadence the bridge tool zita instead of alsa it works!
Now the question is why alsa bridge tool is not working by default?
