Re: Are there affordable microphones that last for decades?
I've been using a Samson C01U for over a decade. Never had a problem and it's definitely affordable. Low noise floor with a little harshness in the upper mids. Definitely better for vocals than recording instruments, but a great value nonetheless. I thought USB microphones don't survive as long as ...

[SOLVED] How can I eliminate pop sounds from alsa_in and zita-a2j working on ALSA loopback?
jack 1.9.12 zita-alsa-pcmi-0.3.2 zita-resampler-1.6.2 zita-ajbridge-0.8.2 I want to bridge ALSA applications to jack. I tried alsa loopback with alsa_in and zita-a2j. Both alsa_in and zita-a2j seem to produce pop sounds at least once every minute. Sound Output ---(Optional) dmix---> hw:Loopback,0,0 ...

Re: Are there affordable microphones that last for decades?
My Shure SM58 has been with me for decades, it's still the best mic for my vocals and it's designed for heavy-duty use. The USB mics I've seen and used have been poor contenders by comparison, but I'll be the first to admit that I've not kept up with the technology. Are you using your mic for singi...

Are there affordable microphones that last for decades?
I currently own Blue Snowball iCE. I'm disappointed that it has short lifespan.
I want an affordable microphone that lasts at least 15 years. I will plug it into Raspberry Pi 3 B+.
It just needs to record my voice.
Does anyone know such microphones?

Regular expression matchnikgnomicradio wrote:what do you require that is lacking from aj-snapshot?
Parser pattern match
Glob pattern match
Those are only available in source codes.

Re: Does anyone write a python JACK patchbay customized for one's own setup?
I don't think you need to re-implement something from scratch for switching between jack patchbay presets from a keyboard shortcut. You can do that with qjackctl by using command line switches: " -a, --active-patchbay=[path] Set active patchbay definition file" Then it should be just abou...

Does anyone write a python JACK patchbay customized for one's own setup?
I searched for JACK patchbays. None of them satisfied my needs. I don't want to see GUI. I want to route every JACK client to either speakers or headphones. When I press a keyboard shortcut, I want every JACK client to switch between speakers and headphones. It seems that it's easier to write a cust...
