Re: Getting a good (guitar) sound across multiple listening devices. Advice?

...focused on guitars...and settled on a method or workflow that got them to a satisfying conclusion? A high quality car stereo is a really good way to test your sounds. Go to a BMW/Mercedes car lot, if needs be! Or buy a balanced system for your chariot. If like me, you can't ID artists and their ...

Motorolla-dsp56300 emu with gui updated

https://dsp56300.wordpress.com/downloads/ The debian packages install to /usr/local/lib/vst (or vst3 or clap) so I moved them to .clap, .vst, and .vst3, and tested the clap version. They require ROM files from the discontinued Access Virus B or C models, which are widely available for download, and ...

Re: New Bandcamp Album

Nice orchestration and flow, with a nice hint of Moody Blues in some places. Maybe a local thing? 8) Liking it more the second time through. It's a very complete and self contained presentation of peace. @ psyocean: A studio with keys and guitar chair centered at this window, with river and bird son...

Re: guitarix2-0.45.0 released

I confirm the noise was present in the linux vst3 version at 44100 24k, but not when I switched reaper default project and qjackctl settings to 48000. Various models have their own sounds based on the particular gear and modeling session. edit: gui with nvidia pcie 9400 GT card is fine in both nouve...

Re: Rated Blue - "Cranked Remastered" released!

I've not been an avid listener of famous bands, but I detected some skillz I'd associate with Steely Dan and Yes. Also, adding acoustic guitar and organ isn't easy these days, but flows well in these songs, and the stories are interesting. 8) Bravo! 8) You might like the Dave Simpson Trio, being a t...

Re: guitarix2-0.45.0 released

To find the Neural's in the Guitarix vst3, open a new panel with a click of the + widget, select Distortion from the menu, and take your pick, as in the pick below. I copied Neural Amp gear to the Music folder it opened by default, and also made an 'Aida-amps' folder there, for the RT Neural gear. B...

Re: guitarix2-0.45.0 released

So easy to create a chain that sounds good to me. I lack an accurate frame of reference, but it's great fun. Looking forward to integrating some Neural models. Such amazing technology these days! Thanks for sharing years of work.

Re: wine-staging experiences and update hold?

Hi, you can install linux on external usb drives, no rocket science. An SSD in a usb case is
handy, fast, and the peace of having a second system is worth the price. 8)
Cheers

Re: 'Migrating' Yabridge plugs

Here is the Kontakt West Africa percussion library, with sustain pedal down to be my drummer for a nice Guitar Rig practice jam. These plugins were migrated from an early 2023 AVLinux, to the newest version, but with quite a bit of tinkering on my part, but I'm delighted with the possibilities :wink...

Re: wine-staging experiences and update hold?

On the troubled system, where SampleTank 4 and Kontakt 6 crashed when loaded in Reaper, I replaced the wine-staging 9.3 folder in /opt with the working OK version 9.0 from a non-update partition, and then decided to install the official nVidia driver using synaptic package manager, an old version '3...

Re: 'Migrating' Yabridge plugs

If I wanted to test out a different distro, should it be possible to copy my existing wine_c folder and .reg files to the new system to save reinstalling my windows plugins? I'm dual booting an "old" and a "new" linux distro, with home folders on distinct partitions, while havin...

Re: wine-staging experiences and update hold?

Hi, the wine-staging is a testing release, in my experience around 10% of updates will cause musical trouble, but things that are reported to their system don't take long to be fixed. I also noticed some plugins crashing Reaper in the 9.3 release. I keep multiple distros, with one that never gets a ...

Re: Native Access AV Linux MX23 Install Help for a noob

Hi, I have a previous version of AVLinux where Native Access 1.14 works. I have Kontakt 6 and wine-staging 9.0.0 bullseye, with xfce as desktop gui. I have an nVidia pcie 9400GT video card and the driver is xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.17-1 The kernel is 5.19.0-4.2-liquorix The Kontakt 6 version is from...
