Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
I believe Ventoy recently was having issues with newer Kernels which may explain why your USB keys weren't booting AVL 23.2.. Admittedly this is just a shot in the dark.. Can confirm. I just tried to install OpenSuse Tumbleweed from Ventoy and it failed, whereas it worked perfectly when I wrote the...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Hi, Tippe Yes it uses the former JACK | PulseAudio | pajackconnect Audio setup... Some people seem to have the idea that I abandoned that for PipeWire, it was not an easy decision to make and it still works well. PipeWire is the current state of the art and the future so I got onboard and it is quic...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Hi. I tried installing AVL MXE. Tried three times on two different USB hard drives. When trying to boot installed AVL MXE all I get is a blinking cursor on the prompt. Nothing else happens. No boot menu, no boot process, even the LED of the USB HD won't blink. I will try to install using my newer c...

Apparently PipeWire 1.0.4 has some significant FireWire work included.

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Tippe As for your WLAN question, I have no idea what a fritz! box is.. on my machine it looks like this: shot-2024-04-08_18-31-31.jpg So... left-click on the panel applet pops up the dialog, checking off the "Wifi On" box will show the available networks and clicking on the available netw...

And there are still 2 to add, VST3 and that other new one that's popular now, forget the name at the moment.

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
@Tippe Lunch break.. Part 1.. You should select your preferred Audio recording device with Menu-->Applications-->Sound and Video-->pavucontrol Has Pavucontrol evolved into an official pipewire settings control app, or is using it more some like kind of hack that just happens to work for now? Well i...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition 23.2 ISO update released!
Tippe Ok, first things first... we'll get there. I'm at work and not on a computer until this evening. Now that you've installed AVL I strongly recommend setting the system to boot with systemd as detailed in the release announcement above near the end. Next you don't need 'pw-jack' commands.. AVL ...

Re: Dynebolic returns from hibernation
Interesting! Dynebolic was the first Linux Distro I ever booted back in 2006 or so (MEPIS was the first one I fully installed) when you could 'nest' it into Windows and I loved how it looked and worked. It shaped my idea to make AV Linux complete as a bootable ISO "appliance" so it could b...
