Re: Need Advice for a 25 or 37 keys usb midi controller

Thanks for the reply. I have a M-Audio keystation 88es, that is plug and play with ubuntu since 10.04. The keystation mini 32 is actually of the same series (so expectations are good), but is younger. Here we see the attributes for the keystation 88es: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Keystatio...

Need Advice for a 25 or 37 keys usb midi controller (SOLVED)

Re: Best desktop for low latency performance?

Hi, maybe DE is not so essential for audio performance, expecially if you have a brand new computer. But on my 8 years old little-tux-home-recording machine with 512 Mb of ram switching to lxde made xrun number visibly smaller, running jack, Ardour and Guitarix with 5.33 ms of latency and good stabi...

Re: linux-realtime freezes on "Loading initial ramdisk"

Thanks for reply. I'm testing both with snd_hda_intel (the soundcard of the laptop) and a Behringher UCA202 USB audio interface, that works great with an old computer I have. Currently I'm on xfce4, I also tried lxde too.

linux-realtime freezes on "Loading initial ramdisk"

So, I'm running ubuntu studio 12.04 on a Compaq Presario CQ-61. Not being satisfied by the lowlatency kernel (I can not eliminate the xruns that come approximately every 1-2 minutes, thanks to issues related to IRQ I think) I tried the linux-realtime image hosted in kxstudio repos (I tried the one i...
