Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released
Hi Well, indeed nothing changed in the engine part of guitarix. But I don't thing that boost could have a influence on the sound, as it is used merely for string formatting in the UI. In the engine, we use some mutex in the init of the convolver engine, but I cant really see that boost could influen...

Re: [SOLVED] Slightly confused by jack_iodelay output
Yes. When I worked on my master project I had to monitor latencies and I found that they change not only when restarting JACK, but also when an xrun happens. Don't really know why too. Just a guess here, but the USB protocol use "packages", didn't it? As so does jack. But, there is no syn...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.4 released
I tried download the GxPlugins installer and got this message: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. Duno what that is. I've just checked it, for example, just click on the link above and select save. You'll get the install...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.4 released
Glad you like it. Let me know if you've any trouble with the binary's or the binary installer. I received one report about a issue with the update-desktop-database command in the installer script, so I've pushed a new version with the new option no-menu-update to disable it. Command will then be: su...

https://github.com/brummer10/GxPlugins. ... d-gcc5.run
Adapt the same rules then for the above guitarix installer.
enjoy.

Re: Guitarix 0.35.4 released
And now, finally the first time, a guitarix binary installer. https://sourceforge.net/projects/guitarix/files/guitarix/guitarix2-amd-gcc5.run/download This one is made for binary-compatibility with Mixbus and Ardour5. Re: Slightly confused by jack_iodelay output
This might not be very obvious, but the extra loopback latency reported at 48k (which I understand is the combination of alsa driver + HW latency) is significantly lower: 270 frames versus 400 something in all other cases. Should I conclude that the card itself perfoms best at 48K? You should trans...

Re: Slightly confused by jack_iodelay output
What I don't get is why you see the same value even with with synchronous mode enabled... Simply, because jack_iodelay is a single client, that means, in any cycle (frame), first the input port gets processed by jack, and, then, exact one cycle (frame) later, the output port gets processed. Hence y...

Re: Indian scale tuner - 22 shruti
This is great, thanks. I won't have my sitar for a while but it will be very useful when I do. In fact, I can't really remember when I've played mine the last time. :( I guess I work to much, and then, when I've time, I play with C/C++. So, now I've added another tuning mode, the Ptolemy's intense ...

Re: Black Pearl/Red Zeppelin drums bundled with mixbus
Beside the top quality of those plugs, Robin Gareus (x42), the developer of the LV2 plugins from Glen's samples, is, again beside all his other activities for the open source community (Ardour, MOD, Lv2, . . . ), a payed developer of Harrison Mixbus, and several of his plugs get sold by Harrison, or...

nosuspend - avoid computer suspend as long a app is running
Hi After some discussions with @wolftune, I wrote a little app to allow users to avoid temporary computer suspend on systemd based systems. nosuspend allows users to avoid suspend or shutdown even on privileged level (e.g. root) when a running user process shouldn't be interrupted. for example captu...

Indian scale tuner - 22 shruti
Hi For those interested, I've just add, on request, a new micro-tonal tuning mode to gxtuner. Shruti, which is the Indian non-equal tuning ratio to 22 semi tones. You can get it here: https://github.com/brummer10/gxtuner to use the new shruti mode, you must start gxtuner with the parameter -m shruti...
