Re: The NetVST Project

Hermann Seib stated that clearly where? When? I can't possibly keep up with the entire Internet. Hermann Seib is the developer of one of the first (if not the first ever) open source VST hosts. http://www.hermannseib.com/english/vsthost.htm The reason why he didn't open his source any more, are peo...

...and you still haven't explained why they can't release the code. If they can and don't want to, it is indeed a lame excuse. Umpf, I cant believe that I still answer, but I do. Hermann Seib stated clearly, that he wont release any open source any more, because people steel his code without respec...

Re: The NetVST Project

Sounds like a lame excuse to me. Or maybe they don't really know what they are talking about? But rather than telling me who they are, perhaps you could explain why they can't release their code. Which they don't. They just give a very vague justification. Do you really ain't get it? Originally, I ...

To me. it sounds more like YOU didn'z know what you talk about. Sorry, for sounding harsh here, but, do you know who Hermann Seib is? It seems not. So, go, make your homework, before blame people/de...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released

He yea, I know this situation very well, when I work to long on algorithm optimisations.
May a Spectral Analysis Plug could make it visible?

However, ffmpeg 3.3.2 arrive today in debian/sid, and I must say that I cant determinate a difference at all.
Gcc7 is still in experimental in debian,

Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released

Do you really get a difference in sound when using internal versus external zita-resampler and zita-convolver library's ( not the ffmpeg version)?

gimmeapill wrote:I need to apply a proper patch in the pkgbuild otherwise makepkg will overwrite the file
You could create a patch (after editing) with

Code: Select all

git diff /src/zita-convolver-ffmpeg/zita-convolver.cc > ffmpeg_fix.patch
and apply it in your pkgbuild with

Code: Select all

patch -p1 < ffmpeg_fix.patch

Re: Still gcc 5?

14.04 was released 3 years ago, that's not old in my view. It's still what I use for my main desktop, and works just fine. Well, gcc 7 is out already, and be the default on arch, compatibility in code get lost more and more. I guess you cant really support blending age and 14.04 for long term, as l...

Re: Audio config: ALSA not playing out to built-in HW

At least as far as this is concerned, cadence is the easiest way I've come across for achieving this. Just start jack from it, press start for the alsa and pulseaudio bridges and it all works. Have you tried this? So the issue with cadence is solved for you? https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php...

Re: Need help for packaging noise-repellent

Hello linuxmusicians, I'm looking to make a decent release of noise-repellent Hi Nice. :) and I would like to release packages for different distributions oh, that would be a hole lot of work. I'm prefer to leave that task to the packagers of the different distributions. But, if you really like to ...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released

Good catch Tramp, and thanks again for the first class support. You are welcome. :) Building with the --includeconvolver switch, and the sound is back to what it was with my 0.35.4 build from 10 days ago, whereas a stock build with the latest ffmpeg from Arch sounds kind of mushy. When we developed...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released

checking some related packages on arch, I suspect ffmpeg to be the culprit. Updated on 2017-07-15

You could check if it is, by building guitarix with the --includeconvolver flag instead the --convolver-ffmpeg

If it is, I need to investigate.

Re: Audio config: ALSA not playing out to built-in HW

Hi I don't know what goes wrong exactly with your configuration, but, to get rid of Turn off PA auto-start: add to /etc/pulse/client.conf: autospawn = no and daemon-binary = /bin/true. and integrate pulse smooth within jack over qjackctl, this one may be of some help: https://github.com/brummer10/pa...

Re: Guitarix 0.35.5 released

Hi Well, indeed nothing changed in the engine part of guitarix. But I don't thing that boost could have a influence on the sound, as it is used merely for string formatting in the UI. In the engine, we use some mutex in the init of the convolver engine, but I cant really see that boost could influen...
