Re: Framework for audio plugins in C code

then I can put it on the internet for people download? If you did that you would be infringing Steinberg's copyright. Unless you bought a license from them prior to 2018 you cannot legally release a new VST2 plugin. There are a lot of posts about this online, first example I pulled up - https://for...

Re: Framework for audio plugins in C code

Looks very interesting! My only concern is VST2. It's not longer possible to get a license for this format from Steinberg. You should add support for VST3, LV2, or CLAP. But it seems that VST2 is the still most widely supported plugin format with Linux DAWs. Some don't even support LV2, others don'...

Re: The Superpiano

I'm not going to claim that I wasn't duped, but the idea of manually playing 20 velocity layers made my brain niggle. I didn't think about it too hard though. If you read the OP's website they claimed to use a mechanical device to play the notes by hitting the strings directly rather than the keys....

Pianoteq is not a sample based instrument, so there is no infringement of copyright.

I should have said it is against their EULA.

Isn't it just opposite, good that you downloaded them yeasterday,

No, because they are infringing the copyright of whoever makes Pianoteq and therefore I can't use them. Also if I'm going to use Pianoteq I rather just use Pianoteq than some limited sampled version.

I would like commercial instruments.

However, I wonder about the tech. Are they not dependent on the whole Kontakt system?

Musio is Cinesample's new player/downloader. It's unrelated to Kontakt, but still proprietary.

Re: Rhapsody Player

I don't know how I missed this thread! I'm glad you're enjoying Bell & Bone, I'm really pleased with how it came out, although I already have some plans to improve the legato. It is free of charge permanently. Rhapsody is a launcher for instruments built with HISE. So the idea is you build your ...

Re: Melonix

Or you incorporate parts of the Melodyne sound as a vocal technique ;) Effects used creatively keep things fresh. Effects used wisely help keep people listening. I don't listen to much modern music, so I doubt I'd recognize melodyne in action, unless someone pointed it out to me, but the beancounte...

Re: Melonix

Sad ... but it probably has died. There is still no tool under Linux that can come close to Melodyne and it will probably stay that way for a long time. After all, there remains at least mx tune with which halfway semi-serious work is possible. Everything else under Linux is completely out of the q...
