This is interesting, could this be used to make music video with some self made simple animation creature?
https://youtu.be/lLa9DUiJICk?t=224
And would that work with modifying video with single frame looping, without real animation?

Re: ILOK, eLicenser & Waves plugins....
Today I installed iLok to ubuntu 18.04 running Wine Staging (wine-5.20) and no problems.
It looks like working, have run 2 plugins which need iLok.

Re: First Linux DAW
however, to stick with the terminology that works for you :) In case you want to have some useful answers, I suggest using definitions that are commonly used. Sure, you can have own opinions what something means. Just to give example, slum can be defined as 'too densely built for the comfort of liv...

Re: Looking for sampler
Most likely not what you are looking for, but sfz has opcode loop_type and that can be 'alternate'.
https://sfzformat.com/opcodes/loop_type
For sfz, I would try sfizz or liquidsfz, and linuxsampler as last resort.
From commercial options, Renoise Redux is one possibility.

Re: your favourite guitar playing style ?
As many people are looking forward to learn to play guitar by hearing a great guitarist. Something inside us makes us say “What is that sound? I wanna play that!”. Once you have experienced this, you are already on the way to being a guitarist. If you have never played before, there are so many typ...

Re: Midi Drum Patterns
Yeah, electronic music typically is happy with a strictly on time rhythm. I guess if one just wanted the pattern, and as these can't be copyrighted, one could just select the pattern they liked, quantise it, and then randomise slightly, just a few percent, that way it certainly wouldn't infringe an...

Re: Midi Drum Patterns
We are concerned with patterns here. Why sample performances these days when it is so easy to synthesise drum sounds or make your own samples, or use some PD samples. Synthesisers with drums on them are so common these days, one is almost tripping over them. It does make sense that one cannot copyr...

Re: Midi Drum Patterns
And a database that hosts all possible combinations of drum patterns (425k drum patterns points in this direction but is still far away from the end point) would ridiculate the question about copyrightability. IMHO Strict on beat patterns would be doable to cover all possible beats. However, for hu...

Re: Midi Drum Patterns
Based on my understanding the person who dug this up did not think this through at all. The SD2 drum patterns include this played by specific artists - Carter Beauford is in there. That kind of pattern is easily tractable and could get you in serious trouble. So in general, i think it's wise to jus...

Re: Midi Drum Patterns
I suppose you are free to use them, but distributing them is not legal. And I suppose same goes to some other stuff there. Basicly, pirated stuff.
