After some searching and trying, reporting current status with Melodyne: Current version 5 is impossible to run with wine currently, registration fails. There is rumours that cracked versions work, because registration is only thing failing, but I did not verify this. I can't trust cracked software....

It does indeed look interesting but I just tried the Linux version and it was instantly blacklisted in Mixbus and didn't show in Carla. The Win version comes as a .vst file rather than a .dll so LinVST didn't recognise it either. Hopefully someone can get it working and share. I like its non-skeuom...

problem is that the Wav format per se doesn't "hold" or "manage" loops nor metadata though it can accept to have some attached thus I suppose your "wav files with loop markers" are held in some metadata which were added at some time by some sound editor or akin? anyway...
