Thanks, but I am not interested in a plugin version. A standalone variant in form of pitch tool of Mixbus/Ardour is sometimes helpful, but I can use Reaper's time stretching as a fallback, and I need that extremely rarely, as I rarely do video editing.

This is a bug in Rubberband library itself, it behaves the same in Ardour and Mixbus even if used as standalone. Just tested it, confirmed. File a bug report.

Still don't believe it ever approaches KXStudio in means of what's available in repos and how old is it. I remember about 10 attempts to use it, none of them actually succeeded. AVLinux and KXStudio were always really far ahead of Ubuntu studio, which always looked like a nasty joke on Linux musicia...

I wouldn't trust a developer who chooses HTML + CSS + Javascript for UI design, especially in applications that require to be responsive to the point of being actually real time. Dig it 6 feet under along with all the dev team.

I hope the sample rate issue changes soon! A real issue is someone using 44100 Hz when tracking. 48K is more stable with most of hardware available, and it is a standard sampling rate for virtually any video out there, be it an ancient DVD or a 8K video on Youtube. Any decent synth is CPU heavy, except for ZynAddSubFX, which also can be quite a resource hog if too many stuff is used. There's no magic.

This will lead to a total mess, because different kits are recorded under different conditions, you'll run into phasing issues amazingly fast.
