Ah, that's what you mean. I meant "USB 3.0 Soundcard", you meant "external USB 3.0 controller card".
That is not an option, as I use a notebook.

Re: Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
This has happened before.
Today QTractor crashed when I activated the pianoteq plugin, so it might have nothing to do with yoshimi at all - or with the combination of both.

Re: Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
Addition: I just remember @tramp saying something about fltk not being thread-safe. I am using (in the project where I use yoshimi): - pianoteq (closed source, don't know the toolkit) - carla for playing sfz (I think carla uses gtk, doesn't it?) - QTractor (which uses QT, of course) - gxSupersonic, ...

Re: Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
4 cores (real ones, 8 with hyperthreading on). But, remember, it crashed when changing a setting, there were no sounds produced at the time. This certainly is not a performance issue. I can perfectly understand you - I'm a software dev myself, and if people say "it crashes" but don't know ...

Re: Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
I have only one track with yoshimi plugin (about 10 tracks in total, depending on project). I use arch-linux, so it's the distro-stock-version. I see if I get any crashes during the rehearsals this week. After that, I think I will build a debug version of QTractor, I sometimes get lots of crashes, b...

Re: Some questions about interrupts and usb
Thanks. But if you say the 2.0 controller is part of the 3.0 controller, the 3.0 card would not help either, right? Other stuff and the sound card would still be on the same interrupt.

Re: Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
Hi, I use 1.5.11.4 and QTractor 0.9.8 . I am, to be honest, not sure that it is a Yoshimi-Issue. Could be something else, too, I have no stacktrace to see where it crashed. I have lots of projects, and it crashed when I changed the midi channel in a yoshimi-track, and I had crashes with Qtractor + Y...

Yoshimi in QTractor - not stable
Hi, for spacy synth-sounds I use Yoshimi. Unfortunately, I encounter quite some crashes with the combination QTractor - Yoshimi (for instance when I change the midi channel, when I change the sound, things like that). Does anyone share that experience? Is ZynAddSubFX (the "original") more ...

Re: Guitarix doesn't "catch" my Guitar's sound but Audacity does
I have a behringer-card, too. In my case it's hw:UMC1820. In yours probably hw:UM2
codec is very likely the builtin-card.
Plug in the card first, then start qjackctl, not the other way! Also make sure the card is turned on (mine has a hardware-switch, don't know about yours).

Re: Guitarix doesn't "catch" my Guitar's sound but Audacity does
You must choose your behringer-card in qjackctl as your soundcard. You probably use the other one at the moment. It is not easily possible to use one card for input, the other for output, with jack. Use the behringer for input and output! (Yeah, I know that it's possible, but it's not easy, definite...

Re: USB Audio Interface JACK Xruns on Linux but not on Windows
Hi, I have read through the whole thread, but I might have overlooked something. Did you - set the cpu governor to performance - prevent the cpu from going into deeper c-states ? I use intel-cpus, but it seems that things are not too different for amd: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/CPU_freque...

Some questions about interrupts and usb
Hi, I'd like to understand interrupts a little better. The general concept is known to me (I used to hack assembler code that was executed on hsync and vsync interrupts on my old Atari ST in the late 80s ;) ), but nowadays, things seem to be more complex. At the moment, no usb peripherals are plugge...

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!
Hi, I do switch off hyperthreading. In another thread I read that the general jack-realtime-priority should be lower than that of the soundcard. Is it correct that I set the realtime-priority for jack in limits.conf and the one for the soundcard with rtirq ? If so, are 95 for the soundcard and 80 fo...

Re: Worse performance when power supply plugged in!
I have taken a look (even though the gig is still to come, but a bios setting is undone faster than a kernel upgrade). There are two settings that can be changed in this bios: - intel speed step The problem is that when I de-activate intel speed step, the cpu runs on a fixed rate of 1.4 gHz, whereas...

Re: Midi Sysex Failure? Kawai K4
Hi,
I just thought it would be raw midi, no matter what the file extension is. But if they say you can do it with reaper, I am probably wrong.
What about my idea to try to make the k4 play some midi notes? Once this works, you can be sure that you adress the right device.
