i'd recommend my ppa's (even for the pure-debian-crackheads-not-afraid-of-frankendebianitis:)) "jammy" one might be a good choice:

Re: Plugin drumkv1 doesn't start in REAPER
Is it the general behavior? does it also freeze on ardour, qtractor and anything else (talking about lv2 hosts, ofc.)?
otoh. what packaging or distro you got drumkv1-lv2 from?

Re: [SOLVED] Qtractor recording from plugin synths doesn't work
Hi, maybe you didn't understand that the (global) options are just an indication for current and new sessions onboarding... sessions that once saved on that board will keep their previous settled configuration even still you turn it off later; the clue is on each track and bus plugins > Audio > Dedi...

Re: [SOLVED] Qtractor recording from plugin synths doesn't work
after all this mess, you must have had Options... > Plugins > Instruments > Dedicated audio outputs turned on; which enables plugins > Audio > Dedicated on all MIDI tracks and buses, including the MIDI Master input and output buses; you also had "Auto Connect" on all of those dedicated aud...

Re: Qtractor recording from plugin synths doesn't work
it's kinda interesting that you have several audio output buses named after "Master" something... you even have one of those output buses cleverly named as "Master In" ? (preposterous isn't it?) please go with the suggested dumbed down plan: get rid of all buses but leave only th...

Re: Qtractor recording from plugin synths doesn't work
..., for me to reach the current situation, I needed to connect each individual MIDI track to the Audio Master In manually, which doesn't seem to hear "system"! what's that for? how can you even connect each individual MIDI track to the Audio Master In manually ??? this makes no sense. pl...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...
Does anyone know if pipewire supports jack_session? This is now marked as deprecated, yet I know of several people who use it precisely because it is very simple and lightweight. It's not supported. if I am not mistaken, jack_session is a prerogative of jack clients that adopt and support it. altho...

Re: Qtractor and plugin control from recorded clip doesn't work?
the assigned MIDI Controller (modwheel) responds only to external input :( you might try an external loopback, like, MIDI Master Out -> MIDI Control No, this doesn't work. It does anything but that. as @bluebell noticed, you'll need to exactly match the MIDI channels of the track sending the "...

Re: Qtractor and plugin control from recorded clip doesn't work?
well then. the assigned MIDI Controller (modwheel) responds only to external input (via Control input bus, if dedicated or the first input bus, usually Master In); it doesn't respond to performance or media content MIDI data in tracks and clips, at least so directly . you might try an external loopb...

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!
you need a PREEMPT_DYNAMIC configured kernel to get preempt=full to take effect, which in fact leads to a what was known as a low-latency kernel previously (PREEMPT).

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!
hi GMaq my rationale goes like it does matter in any case, whether or not pipewire is handling the alsa usb-audio cards on irqs (pro-audio profile) or soft-timers (as it used to before v1.0.0 came along...) as a side note, please have a look to this additional comment on today's rtirq update. cheers

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!
My card is a funny one and the script goes funny: [...] yeah, tascam and motu are infamous in this regard, as ever been: they are not driven by snd-usb-audio whatsoever... question still applies: does the OP rtcirqus give you any better figures? EDIT: btw. rtirq update - 2024 second edition is out ...

Re: It's a real-time circus out there!
ofc. this pledge applies to usb audio devices only... I'll correct the above that it applies to snd-usb-audio driven devices only. iow. the ones which are usually said "usb audio class compliant"... I could be wrong, but the motu avb doesn't seem to be one; does it appear on rtcirqus ?
