Re: FOSS Replacement for Waves MaxxBass?
Mixbus has some bass-related plugins which might help: AVA Bass Flow https://harrisonconsoles.com/ava-plugins and XT-BC Bass Character https://harrisonconsoles.com/mixbus-plugins/ . There are frequent sales, so if you are patient you can get these at a discount. These will work in any DAW supporting...

I wonder if Autogridder https://audiogridder.com/ could be another approach for you. Just heard about it today, haven't tried it.

Re: MIDI Input problem
If you are using a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 then you must be using firewire. I have a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 and using FFADO it only works to receive midi from my keyboard. It does not work to send midi from the computer to the keyboard due to FFADO not working completely with the Focusrite firmwa...

Re: Impulse Response Loader
Looking at the Celestion webpage linked above it says:
"Please note Two note products only work in the Wall of Sound and in no other software because of the proprietary format."
Hence, you may have problems unless you can manage to run "Wall of Sound" in wine.

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!
I figured out that my problem with x-runs with 5.9.1-rt20avl1 is because I was trying to run Jack with too high realtime priority. Realtime priority is turned on with the "Realtime" check box on the "Parameters" tab, and the Realtime priority is set by the "Priority" bo...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!
So, no one is interested in my Pianoteq problem.... Well, I have found the problem is the kernel. Pianoteq works fine with 5.4.28avl2-lowlatency which is also what I have on my previous AVL2020 installation. 5.6.17-rt10avl1, 5.9.1avl1-lowlatency, 5.9.1-rt20avl1 all have very high DSP with Pianoteq m...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Released!
I've installed AVL-MXE to my computer and find that the audio performance is unexpectedly very poor. Specifically, if I play Pianoteq, the DSP load is very high, reaching 100% with many x-runs if I play a fast passage. This is with a NI Komplete Audio 6 at 48Khz, 256 frames, 2 periods. With AVL-2020...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Release Candidate Uploaded!
I agree, my link to jacktrip.org was a bit misleading, and misses the point. Anyway, my idea that it might be useful to some to have a bootable ISO that is already configured to use jack and jacktrip. I'll leave it to GMaq has to decide if it is worth the diskspace and trouble to include jacktrip.

Re: Bluetooth headphones work with some programs but not all?
There is a problem that there is no bluetooth driver in alsa, so bluetooth only works with pulse audio. Since Jack relies on alsa this means that Jack-based applications can't use bluetooth. However, there are some workarounds see: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=12114&p=1216...

GuntherT I think you missed this part: JackTrip is a free, open source program authored by Chris Chafe and Juan Pablo Caceres at Stanford University. Its been around for nearly 20 years so its pretty mature. The Jacktrip foundation is something new, probably inspired the COVID restrictions. The poin...

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Release Candidate Uploaded!
Jacktrip is one of several ways of doing low-latency collaborative music over the internet: https://www.jacktrip.org/ its a 10MB jack client that allows you to connect to one or more remote computers for music collaboration. I've been considering trying to use it with a chorus I sing with (well, a s...

Re: Bitwig Studio - Frustrated by (lack of) Inter-App Routing
The -e option on a2jmidid exports hardware midi connections to jack, won't help with bitwig. Also, "man a2jmidid" lists options, explains -e option.

Re: AV Linux MX Edition Release Candidate Uploaded!
Any chance to put jacktrip on the iso? Could be nice to boot from USB and be able to use jacktrip (semi-) immediately. Could be handy for non-linux users.
