Re: new GxSVT.lv2

It's simple, as a open source developer, I depend on your feedback, otherwise, I may get lost between development circles. Right now, I'm very proud about this plug, and I believe I've nailed it, but maybe, I'm wrong. That's what I like to know, am I wrong? Tell me, don't be shy :) Hi Hermann, I've...

Re: Setting up Guitarix with Jack and Ardour

Hi Oldmac, I'm a bass player (and old as well) ;-) so I was interested myself - having had a real Ampeg SVT stack in my youth, there's now a simulation in guitarix. As you can see in the following screenshot (which is also on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/wjlonien/36505824915/ ) I had to i...

Re: Interested ? (jam112)

I'm back to work at the moment, and in the evenings it's "scales and arpeggios" mostly (like in Disney's "Aristocats"), plus a bit noodling around Jazz Standards if I have the time. But I'll see what I can do...

Re: Interested ? (jam112)

Thanks for the inclusion and new publication, jonetsu - sounds great already; you're right. Love it, and so I feel quite honored to be part of this.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Re: Interested ? (jam112)

I grabbed the new bass file, will add it (very) soon. Thanks for letting me know! And @forestandgarden: please also let me know when you've got it, so I can clean up my Dropbox a bit... As a side note, I'll have to return to work (my employers' office) in 2 days from now. And my evenings will be ha...

Re: Paul Davis at LAC 2017

Hi all, I found the talk very inspiring. Plus he discusses not only the state of Ardour, Jack, and other software just on Linux, but the general state of audio done with PCs, Macs, and Linux. I also learned from him that for instance the Behringer X32 console - a very nice offering in and by itself ...

Re: Interested ? (jam112)

Ok guys, just did as I thought - I recorded the bass again, and here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqimzfpskj6j5ue/jam112-fretless-04.zip?dl=1 This time it's with the tone blend on the bass open, and without any plugins on its Ardour track. I also plucked the strings a bit harder to make the...

Re: Interested ? (jam112)

Hm well, I just listened to that new and pulsating version. Two things which concern me: 1. The 2 times I played an E instead of a D now are somewhat delayed, with first a D, then an E - sounds as if I made a mistake, noticed, and then (like in a hurry) tried to correct it. I'd let the bass land on ...

Re: Sunday Morning Blues (of a bass player)

Thanks all - and yes, I've read about that Ampeg SVT emulation plugin for Guitarix. I'll try it, because I've had such an SVT stack (with two "fridges") when I was (much) younger.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Re: Sunday Morning Blues (of a bass player)

Thanks! Re mic recording: yes, I'll do that. I have a Røde NT-1a as well, but no bass amp yet. Thinking about something cheap like a Fender Rumble or a MarkBass JB Players' School combo, or something with even more of a vintage touch, like an Ampeg Portaflex PF-20T or so. And all of these (starting ...

Sunday Morning Blues (of a bass player)

Just recorded a simple one man session in A minor. It's not on Soundcloud but on my homepage: http://wolfgang.lonien.de/2017/07/sunday-morning-blues-of-a-bass-player/ Or here (if that works from my page as well): http://wolfgang.lonien.de/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/170722-idea-gathering_session.ogg ...
