Setting up a USB audio device as a Bluetooth speaker using bluez-alsa under Ubuntu

Some of you may have spotted my new TV Box Internet Radio Recorder project: https://github.com/danboid/TVBIRR I would like to add the ability to stream audio via Bluetooth to my TV box. I'm not quite there yet but I do have bluez-alsa working under Ubuntu 22.04 based Armbian on my X96 Max+ (and X96 ...

Re: pulseaudio module-combine-sink and network devices

I've got this working now. I have a working pulseaudio sink comprising of a pulseaudio soundserver running on my RPi over WiFi and my locally attached USB soundcard. The issue is that it doesn't work to define a combined sink that uses a network device in /etc/pulse/default.pa. Instead, I create the...

Re: pulseaudio module-combine-sink and network devices

If anyone else is interested in trying pulseaudio over the network, this is the best guide I've found: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/470961/how-to-set-up-pulseaudio-remote-properly-and-securely The Arch Linux wiki instructions for setting up PA over a network could do with some improvemen...

pulseaudio module-combine-sink and network devices

Has anyone been successful in creating and using a combined pulseaudio output sink comprising of a network PA device and a local device? I've been trying commands such as: $ pactl load-module module-combine-sink sink_name=Combined2 sink_properties=device.description=CombinedTwo slaves=tunnel.raspber...

Re: songrec-rename - automated renaming/ID of music files

Today I updated songrec-rename to support adding id3 tags (album name, year etc) to any mp3 files it recognises if you have id3tool installed.

songrec-rename - automated renaming/ID of music files

songrec-rename is a shell script to automate the naming of music files. It uses the open source Shazam client songrec to identify tracks.

songrec-rename accepts wav, flac, ogg and mp3 files as input.

Re: Firefox jack ports

Arch FF depends on JACK(1) so I had only tested with that until now but following your suggestion I thought I'd try with jack2-dbus but I have the same problem and get the same error: [Parent 3942, Gecko_IOThread] WARNING: pipe error (52): Connection reset by peer: file /build/firefox/src/mozilla-un...

Re: Firefox jack ports

OK so that's at least two Arch users who have got sound working under FF YT with JACK so it is clearly something wrong with my configuration. I've been starting jack via qjackctl, for the record.

Re: Firefox jack ports

Has anyone had any success in getting a recent Arch build of Firefox, ideally the current version (v64.0), working with JACK? JACK seems to be enabled by default in the official Arch FF PKGBUILD but I've yet to see it successfully create any JACK ports. I have tried setting security.sandbox.content....

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

I have got SID to build under 17.10. Roland says he is probably going to integrate the submodules into the SID tree soon so there should be no need to have a github account with SSH keys configured to build these plugins soon but as for now the build process is as follows: git clone https://github.c...

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

Yep - I got the font issue fixed, as those which have checked out my github ticket will have noticed. The solution was as I expected (MS fonts not installed), specifically Verdana is required BUT users of recent versions of Ubuntu (including 17.10) cannot install msttcorefonts from the package manag...

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

davephillips:

Can you please explain how you built these plugins - I've not had much luck so far:

https://github.com/FigBug/SID/issues/1

EDIT

I wonder if Dave used this to build these plugs:

https://github.com/McMartin/JUCE.cmake

?

Re: 8-bit Treats from Tracktion

I'm having the same issue with the UIs (and the SID VU meter) under Ardour as REAPER.

Either I don't have the correct font installed or maybe I just need to build them from source?

I'm running Ubuntu MATE 17.10 BTW
