Re: What Are Some Good Free File Hosting Sites?
Thanks guys. I think archive.org will work nicely. I signed up. I'm not totally against git, it just that every time I tried to understand the layout as an end user wanting content i got confused. It might be great for programmers, but I'm not a programmer and I don't need versioning controls. When ...

wow, thanks.
@42low, those prices of cassettes really are astounding.
I used to use chrome and metal tapes all the time! ($2-$5 each I think? back then)

Re: Automation?
Take a nice synth track. Duplicate track. Pan each track hard left / right. Take a synth parameter, for example filter cutoff. Modulate it slightly, random during the track. Do the same for the duplicate track. Random! Don't copy the automation. Bam super wide synth.. Thanks! That's a great techniq...

hmmm, trying to help
I have found that the main thing that destroys my system(s)'s stability is allowing or complying with "autoremove" or "remove" suggestions from APT. If you accepted the invitation to remove supposedly unneeded DLL's, it probably broke stuff. That's my main experience, so I NEVER ...

Re: shm tmps
thanks for the good reads. for what it's worth, i just test-installed xubuntu 64-bit today and i noticed that the tmpfs fstab thingy was in there by default. that's the first time i've ever seen that done in 'buntu without user intervention. i would've kept the install, but something went wrong and ...

Re: Wow. word.
The "catch" is that it's a social networking system tethered to specific DAW and upload/download/collab software. I don't use the software yet, but I joined, and the site seems pretty good thus far. It's kinda like SoundClick/SoundCloud/HearThis.at and bandcamp/facebook/taxi combined. But...

[SOLVED] What Are Some Good Free File Hosting Sites?
Hi, I am wondering what are some good free file hosting websites? I want to upload some Linux infos that I made (text, images, gifs, sounds) and make them available to the rest of the internet. I'd rather not use a "git". I am open to other suggestions. Should I try to find blog sites? Tha...

Escape of the Hopping Rhinos
That's a great tune! I love how it evolves drastically even though still maintaining it's fun motif. You are talented. What type of stuff do you use to make music like that? If you are interested, I'd be willing to do a "ProtoZone remix". I feel like I can relate to what you are accomplish...

Formats are kinda fun, though. When you find something good. I even use TTA sometimes (TrueType Audio). It's brilliant. You could have 256 channels of 96 kHz lossless PCM in that one file, I think. WAV can have 65535 channels of 65535 bit at 4,294,967,295 Hz (4.3 gigahertz). The byterate would be 2...

interesting
@Michael and others Yeah, I like algorithmic reverbs too! I got spoiled in college hearing real TC Electronics and Lexicon reverbs but occasionally I'll hear a specific VST that nails a pro sound. Wow, I'm impressed. I just don't know how to program really. I passed a C+ and C++ programming course i...

Re: More scatter-brained tunes for ya!
@Michael Willis Thanks for your reply. I will check out your music! Sounds interesting. :D I think you're right about how just about everything is derivative. The more I research how my favorite bands of the 80s and 90s and early 2000s work(ed), I find that they had the same issues as us and just ha...

Re: Skip the ISO and focus on documentation?
Wow, I have been hearing so much about the KXstudio repos over the past years I forgot about the ISO. While you are reading all this stuff from me, I want to say, THANK YOU. Your pro audio work is admirable and a great influence of positivity in the lives and careers of many! I voted for fixing the ...
