Re: Reaper vs Ardour?

I really tried to like Ardour, but looping midi caused all sorts of problems with dropped notes, hanging notes, etc. The problem was supposed to be fixed in v6 but still just as bad for me, so I gave up. Yeah, those problems with midi are horrible, and nobody is claiming that they are fixed. And do...

Re: Hello, but I don't know how I made it.

What should I use? That strongly depends what you want: - Do you need to record real instruments or vocals - How you work with your midi: working with notation, working with mouse entering noted to piano roll, recording midi from keyboard? - Do you want all possibilities, and do some work (learning...

Hi!

Could you tell bit more about your system, what software you are using, and what distribution you are running?

Re: How to install WineAsio? (Maybe I'm dub)

Hey, for those who don't wanna bother themselves with reading the full story here is my problem: I've installed wineasio in what seems to be the proper way to do so (via the Kx studio repo), I've registered it with the command wine64 regsvr32 wineasio.dll, but it doesn't show up in my installation ...

Looks like jack is running, but rakarrak is crashing, for some other reason.

What is accurate message Guitarix says?

Has anyone tested other guitars same site has? https://unreal-instruments.wixsite.com/unreal-instruments/the-slapper https://unreal-instruments.wixsite.com/unreal-instruments/standard-guitar (is Metal-GTX same with some additional samples?) Edit: Metal and Standard guitar seem to be mostly different...

Re: Metal-GTX

Q: What would be stupid idea? A: Play virtual guitar with guitar like midi-controller I have YouRockGuitar (YRG-1000 Gen2). Connected it with midi, Metal-GTX + 2x Guitarix after it. Some stuff does sound pretty ok. (playing was what it was, I did not bother to edit midi) https://tavasti.fi/~tavasti/...

I tested in liquidsfz and sfizz, no sound. Some unsupported opcodes, and most likely need some specific cc-values to produce sound. Sure it would be possible to modify those sfz so that they work.

@robbert-vdh you have best knowledge on the planet: is wine-stable yet viable alternative for wine-staging?

I installed sforzando, and for me it works. Using wine-6.4 staging.

To get that metal sound, you need virtual amp, like guitarix or something else.

At least Ableton 10 Lite runs ok (don't have license for anything else).

Yes - I have been looking for a free virtual metal guitar for ages, and this one would be perfect. If only I would be able to get it working on Linux....
They are sfz, you could try if they work, maybe bit of modification (sfz file is text)
