Thanks falk, I am currently using the 3.13.0-54-lowlatency version and will try and go back to the previous one if this happens again. I will post here if I find out anything else about it.
Cheers

[Resolved] KXstudio freezes completely since recently
Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone was witnessing this behaviour too: I just recently (since about 4 days ago) started seeing complete system freezes, with mouse frozen and keyboard not responding (no way to invoke a terminal or REISUB the system) and screen not refreshing (clock does not refres...

Re: kde desktop (14.04))
What about going into "System settings > Display and Monitor" and change the resolution to a lower one, clicking on that icon (white screen with green arrows, in "Display configuration")?

Hey linux-lover, thanks heaps for your answer, but I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that... What should I try to modify?linux-lover wrote:This could helplinux-lover wrote:The mixer bypass jack, that sliders need to be down.Abusing the clipping booster as a preamp.
or use the AMS mixer plugin in catia for songs.

internal mic issue with Alsa
Hi everyone! New KXStudio 14.04 user, I am still trying to get it working just as I want. My only real problem left is that I have issues with my internal laptop mic. When Jack is running with default settings (laptop sound card) and Cadence snd-aloop deamon running too (ALSA > Loop > Jack, alsa_in/...

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
Hey FalkTX, could we please get Clementine 1.2.3 in KXS 14.04 ? It fixed a very annoying search issue for me (library search does not work and makes Clementine freeze) that is in the KXstudio stock 1.2.0 version. And I bet there are quite a few other bug fixes in three bugfix releases. Here is the c...

Re: can not log into my session graphically
Great, thanks for the replies and the fix! The workarounds before the fix were to login through the command line and use startx , or as you said, FalkTX, to select the session before logging in (in my login manager, the dropdown menu with the blue arrow). Just like Thad, I ended up learning a few th...

[solved] can not log into my session graphically
Hi all. I ran into an issue today, something I had experienced before on a different computer with Kxstudio installed on it too. I have installed KXstudio 14.04 (although settings say "Ubuntu 14.04.2"), clean from the ISO, on my main laptop a few days ago, used it for a while without any p...

Re: what lightweight and stable music production-oriented di
Thank you for the info! I ended up installing KXstudio, it is good so far, Mixxx 1.11.0 works fine but I still have to figure out a good Jack configuration to get to 0 xruns. I'll post here if I think I have valuable information that could guide other people's choice!
Cheers!

Re: Package requests here! (New and updates)
HI guys! I thought I'd request an update for Mixxx as the current one in the repos for a fresh 14.04 install is still 1.10.1, which is nearly 3 years old: http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/mixxx-1101-released.html The source code for 1.11.0 is there: http://mixxx.org/download/ I am currently ...

Re: what lightweight and stable music production-oriented di
Thanks for your reply, Varpa.
I see that the AV Linux ISO is 32 bits. I have a 64 bits lappy, is that an issue?
And if I can ask, why would you choose AV Linux over KXstudio?

what lightweight and stable music production-oriented distro
Hi everyone! Happy to be back here, hopefully I get more involved in the discussions soon. I have been using Ubuntu for quite a few years, and I have played around with Ubuntu Studio, and Kxstudio more recently. Now, I am sure there are people around here who are more versed and have really tried lo...
