Re: Audio Glitching when using Windows VST

I've managed to get the VST2 of Helix Native guitar sim working in Manjaro using Linvstmanager. When I use a high latency buffer size like 512 and above there's no notable glitched audio that I can hear, but any less latency and I get a lot of glitched sounds. I'm fairly new to linux audio so I'm w...

Re: HybridReverb2 and other convolution reverbs

I've done a version of HybridReverb2 and I changed how the interface behaves mainly because it was unusable for me (and buggy) with the default database search, and I also updated how it opens files and other things. The default reverb IR's sound pretty good to me but I'm mostly interested in loadin...

Re: AV Linux 2020.4.10 Released!!

@khz @gennargiu Thanks very much! Stay healthy! @Kott SFZero is a LinuxVST SFZ hosting plugin, it has seen some work and improvements by @ubuntuuser but it does not recognize all opcodes for some SFZ files.. SFZero.png I've done some things with SFZero-X which is basically a more featured SFZero, m...

Re: Native Access

Native Access can abort or crash partway through a download (because Wine can have problems mounting the downloaded iso file) but the iso file has been downloaded, so a manual mounting and install of the downloaded iso file or a manual unzipping and install of the downloaded zip file in ~/.wine/driv...

Re: UVI workstation plugin performance

I get the disappearing mouse pointer as well. I also tried it on an i7 and the Cinema 1.4 preset would not work and CPU usage was around 135% or something. I think it's a Wine problem where some thread and/or maybe the GUI is hogging the CPU and presets with higher CPU requirements make it all worse.

Re: UVI workstation plugin performance

Hello, I tested the current ubuntu studio 19.10 with different windows plugins (I want to change, because on windows I get minor cracks/xruns even though the CPU load using UVI is very low) Thanks to many information in the forum I could Install all the things, however I have huge performance Issue...

Re: Waves Plugins INnstall Fail

Hi, I can't figure out how to run the script posted before in this thread; I'm not practical in linux, but I like it! In this thread I find 2 scripts kindly posted from Ubuntuuser, I downloaded these scripts and I tryed to running one of these, but I don't understand anything... These are the steps...

Re: Waves_x11 with LinVST3: it seems possible!!!

if you read the README on your github link carefully, you'll see that it states Waves Central v11 needs windows powershell which does not currently work. Ok ok, this is right; BUT is there one way to install powershell? I tried a few days ago but to no avail. I opened a thread in the WineHQ forum, ...

Re: linvst: mo' RAM ?

If CPU is the problem, you may need to 'record' some of the synths to audio track instead of playing all instances simultaneously as synths. Since quite some time I'm offloading (bouncing) some synth tracks. Now with very capable synths such as MSoundFactory and Icarus2, the processing is quite not...

Re: linvst: mo' RAM ?

Would more RAM benefit wine/linvst ? Would it allow to load more instances of a demanding synth ? Like going from 16GB to 32GB. Or maybe from 16GB to 64GB. There is LinVst-X https://github.com/osxmidi/LinVst-X LinVst-X runs vst plugins in a single Wine process so plugins that communicate with each ...

Re: Waves_x11 with LinVST3: it seems possible!!!

Waves Central v10 used to be ok but Waves have changed to using Windows Powershell for v11 which doesn't work with Wine.

Waves Central v11 needs windows powershell which does not currently work.

Re: GOing round in circles with Wine

Hi all. My installation of Wine stopped working at around the same time KXStudio changed repositories. Dunno if that's related. But since then I've been going round in circles trying to get a working install on Linux Mint 19. I'm trying to completely uninstall the current Wine so I can install the ...
