You're quite welcome. I just happened to be re-visiting this now since the midi - tempo issue in Ardour has been resolved.

you can unpack the file Marcel provided with the command 'tar xzvf h2drumkitfiles.tar.gz', which will unpack it to 4 .h2drumkit files, one for each DrumGizmo drumkit (full kit, not a subset like mine initially was).
