Re: [ANN] Qtractor 0.9.37 - An End-of-Autumn'23 Release

just a memo for the clueless :)

as stated on the very 1st change-log line: if you are doing it under pipewire >= 1.0.0, this upgrade is absolutely mandatory!

ALL previous qtractor versions, no matter what age, will hang on startup on pw >= 1.0.0 (while it was fine with pw <= 0.3.85)

cheers

Re: Bluetooth Not Working for Sequencer Monitoring

Latest qpwgraph, v0.6.0, which is here strongly recommended, is not usually on official repos, if at all. don't take anything less than that. Ps. If you have some other old version, please, throw that away immediately. Pps. also, not having qpwgraph installed is NOT the least a sign you're not on pi...

Re: [ANN] qpwgraph v0.6.0 - An Autumn'23 Release

for all things that matter, for the user, pw-midi it's the same as jack-midi; the pw midi-bridge is nothing less than a2jmidid in disguise ;) however, that is not to tell that genuine pw-audio and/or pw-midi clients may ever appear under a jack-graph (think qjackctl, patchage, etc.); they probably w...

Re: [ANN] qpwgraph v0.6.0 - An Autumn'23 Release

hi GMaq , you completely right, as in the name, qpwgraph is only to manage the PW Graph and nothing else (but ALSA MIDI too, there seen as a convenience feature, mind you) there are no plans to make it otherwise, sorry; but let's be practical here: there are prolly only two main commands of interest...

Does Qpwgraph also support that "classic" 2-column mode?

nope :)

Re: Midi+Audio mixdown & pan/vol in Qtractor: a hack & a half

as said, the permanent disablement of having an Aux-Send in an output bus chain is at the UI level, only! nothing will stop you from running an old session that was saved before that UI restriction took place... you may even hack the xml file for that, but please, a lot of caveat emptor , yada yada ...

is there a technical reason why it's not possible to create an aux send in an output bus?

reason explained above: only would work only if the target bus is listed after the source one;
to avoid the pitfall the insert option is permanently disabled.

@rncbc, anything wrong with this approach? If not, could you perhaps enable/allow direct creation of "aux send" in the "out" section of busses?

nothing is really wrong if it works right for you ;)

welcome to qtractor's power-user guild

Cool that everything will be ported to qt6 soon.

all of them already ported to qt6 for years now.

in fact, qt6 builds are the default and heavily recommended though
