Pop cover recorded as rock song
My wife wanted to record a cover of Fire Drill by Melanie Martinez. Being old, I have literally no concept of the hows or whys of pop production. I pretty much ended up making it into an Alice in Chains song or something like that. The reverb is Tap Reverberator. The guitar is a Strat with a humbuck...

Re: Noise Repellent not saving noise profile
Seems like what is happening is that I'm working om 2 machines. same os, ardour version and nrepel. When I copy the ardour project folder to the other machine, the noise profiles are lost. Is there a noise repellent config file that I should copy?

Re: Noise Repellent not saving noise profile
Maybe it is an old version. I would normally work in Arch and I haven't noticed that problem for a couple years but it's been happening in Mint on another computer. I notice that it's not in the repos so I probably built it when I installed Mint and never updated.

Noise Repellent not saving noise profile
I know this was a problem in the past and I thought it was resolved. Am I missing something. I have to reset the noise profiles literally every time I load a session.

Thank you everyone for listening.
@Michael Willis - It was a Shure SM57. Pretty basic setup.

Cover song recorded in Ardour
My wife and daughter and myself recorded this cover on the weekend. Ardour6.3. We used the Salamander piano samples and I believe the Black Pearl 3.1 drum samples.

Ultra-Violent Cartoons
In 1987 (I think) my friend Art gave me some lyrics. I put music to this one that was about cartoons. At the time I would record a part on a cassette deck and then play along with that while recording it to another deck. Repeat until it was done. I had pretty much forgotten it. Recently my kids hear...

Re: No Jack in timecode sync for Ardour
I found it now. In preferences under sync I needed to set the external timecode source to Jack. It was set to midi timecode.

Re: No Jack in timecode sync for Ardour
I did look at that stuff in the prefs. Also in session properties it's already set to use jack as timecode master. Maybe it's something in the build. I don't really want to ask on the Ardour forums as they don't like to give support for unofficial builds. I usually use Arch and it works fine but the...

No Jack in timecode sync for Ardour
Using Mint with the Kx studio repos there is no option for Jack sync on the button under the midi panic button. Just internal and MTC.

Re: Rock and Roll Tune
The copy that we received was on a dat so I think it might have been recorded on an adat. The copy that I have was recorded from the dat to a cassette so that's where the hiss came in. @folderol We intentionally tried to evoke Surfing USA in how the beat stops and starts and the vocal lines come in ...

Re: Rock and Roll Tune
Thanks for listening guys. It's good when something can make people smile nowadays. A remake sounds like a nice idea but I think it's really from a moment in time (unbelievably almost 30 years ago). Things are so different now. Also I've found that a lot of people have no sarcasm detector so when li...

Rock and Roll Tune
This one wasn't technically made in Linux but I did retrieve it off an old cassette with Audacity and edit it. I didn't remove the tape hiss as it was detracting from the punch in the bottom end. In '91 I was playing in a raggedy ass bar band in Winnipeg and our federal government foisted a 7% goods...

Ok now I see I have to add that file to one of the processor slots at the bottom.
