Ugh, and I just wanted to add Qt GUI to my plugins. I'm so discouraged right now.ssj71 wrote:Nothing wrong with GTK, lots wrong with using GTK for a plugin.

Re: Query about the LV2 plugin format
What's wrong with GTK? Haven't coded for it so I have no idea.

Re: Librem 5 - smartphone based on Debian > android-free \o/
their prices are not exactly in keeping with the Open Source community spirit. What is the Open Source community spirit? Here's some other prices: https://tehnoetic.com/ https://minifree.org/ A workstation for 3,700 euro, a phone (SGS3) that I recently bought for 75$ myself for 400 euro. Dunno abou...

Re: What tools are you missing
I miss the standard for C++ build system and package manager. CMake and Conan kinda work but they have many downsides.

I find it ironic that their site pulls crap from googleapis.com without asking users. Well, my Replicant smartphone doesn't even have Wi-Fi so we'll see what they will manage to pull off.

Re: Reinstalled Debian in UEFI mode = Better performance, stability, compatability
actually, complete Debian reinstallation is not required to boot in UEFI mode. even if you have to repartition disk for that, tarring your working system and then extracting to repartitioned disk will do the job. after that, only reinstalling grub and editing fstab is required. I even managed to co...

Well, I've started work on my own sampler targeting SFZ format, but I'm writing it from scratch so it will take years.d.healey wrote:Oh I didn't realise carla had an implementation of SFZero, that's great news. We desperately need a free SFZ player that can really make use of the SFZ format.

Re: Remove duplicate pulseaudio sink
I just think that addon repos shouldn't mess with the system config. I think installing stuff like kxstudio-meta-all and other meta packages and system services is a sure way to destroy your distro.

Re: Remove duplicate pulseaudio sink
Thanks for the help. I'm using qjackctl rather than Cadence. I tried playing around with those files but it didn't help. I've solved the problem now though. I uninstalled pulseaudio and jack and reinstalled them. Annoyingly kxstudio had burrowed into my software sources like a tick and replaced som...

Re: What would Linux be without GNU?
I think GNU and the FSF play an important role in reminding us that FLOSS does not have to be limited to being a technical hobby, but can also be part of "something bigger", something more fundamental. I appreciate their work in identifying trends that endanger computer user freedom not o...

Re: Why ~/.vst ~/.vst3 at two different hidden folder?
Do the different plugin formats have to be in their own "~/.folder"? Or: Can I create a "~/.plugin" folder and tell the program that all my /home plugins (VST/VST3/LV2/...) are there? Or is that not good for the plugin's/DAW's/...? In theory host can try to probe the format usin...

Re: Guitar Virtual Instrument for Linux ?
Linuxsampler is open source software that is not owned by anyone. Linuxsampler is non-GPL, and it's license is more restrictive than the GPL, but that doesn't equate to being proprietary. LinuxSampler is not open source and is owned by LinuxSampler devs. LinuxSampler license violates criteria 1, 3 ...
