Re: fluidsynth 16 subs questions

You usually setup the channels in DAW. Some keyboards allow to select the channel they output so sometimes you can attach keyboard directly via, say, JACK.

I'm pretty sure those are MIDI channels.

Re: sf2 files, good?

Image files do not have executable contents yet I had a TIFF file that could crack a PSP by simply opening it in image viewer :P

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

So the problem is the encroachment of the commercial world into Linux audio. The world of profit, of shareholders and of advertising. Well, that is happening. Linux is growing into the commercial world with products like MOD Duo, and the commercial world is growing into Linux with Reaper, Bitwig an...

Re: MOD Devices sponsors Linuxmusicians.com

36 euro or 19 euro for a domain? Why are you using such overpriced registrars? I'm paying 9$ for .com.

Re: Suggestions for motherboard/processor combo

Gamer here. I've just recently bought NZXT Kraken X72 liquid cooling and BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 and this build is extremely quiet in audio workflow. I have AMD FX-8350 which gets really hot and the stock fan is really noisy so liquid cooling is amazing here. There are also GPUs with liquid coolin...

Re: Looped SFZ instruments

I welcome the attitude not to use system-foreign programs To your first question: Maybe a little overdone, but i would recommend polyphone. You can loop inside the programm and export wav, sf2 and sfz. Argh, it had Debian Stable build but it is too old for my Debian Testing. This part of SFZero ref...

Re: transition everything to Discourse

Incidentally, Ardour forum was just migrated to Discourse: https://discourse.ardour.org/ I don't really have a strong opinion either way, but I found it interesting that they made this change right after our conversation here. White screen on my default browser settings. Oh, right, needs JS. I gues...

Re: Looped SFZ instruments

Ok, I'm not interesting in proprietary Windows software (ugh, double whammy). Can someone say what chunks are needed? I will plug them into my WAV reading/writing code.

Wavosaur is Windows only.

Looped SFZ instruments

So I'm trying to learn how to create looped SFZ instruments. Here it says that by default this info comes from the audio file. Does this mean it reads WAV chunks? What kind of editor can create those? I've tried to put just loop_mode=loop_continuous but LinuxSampler refuses to loop this. Does this m...

Re: Why learn music theory?

Well, ultimate goal is to write an AI composer so I don't have to compose myself. There is not much you can do without music theory here.

Rename forum "New Linux Music News"

I've just realized, is "new" there redundant? And we don't have "old news" forum.
