Re: MusE saving Uhbik plugin state problem

Yes, these plugins do not inform us at all when patches change - and thus controls as well. Therefore our own local mirrored control values do not get updated (generic ui etc.). So I am re-writing the code to directly ask the plugin rather than relying on our local mirrored controls. At the risk of ...

Re: MusE saving Uhbik plugin state problem

Just a heads-up.
I am working on this issue.
Unfortunately it also requires several other tweaks, fixes, and re-writes,
all of which will make things "better".
All for now...

Re: MusE unable to start after (some?) updates

Hm, I had some trouble with rtaudio recently: https://github.com/thestk/rtaudio/issues/406 In my case it was because I had manually built and installed rtaudio separately but an older distro-packaged version was already installed and MusE found the wrong library. Is it possible you have manually bui...

Re: Grouping sets of piano roll editors, or, add a track list

Number 1 + 2:
That's good to hear.
@alex stone is a tough customer
He does a lot of orchestral work.
Something that is maybe a bit out of the scope of current MusE, something that the old OOM was striving for if I recall.
But it could be revisited here...

Re: Grouping sets of piano roll editors, or, add a track list

Quick answer to 3, not sure if you saw this: In the menu there is 'Next part' and 'Previous part', with hotkeys Alt+left and Alt+right. Use them to select which part is current among multiple opened parts in one editor. The title bar will change to show which part is current. Yes it could use some w...

Re: kernel 6.6

OK Good to hear. Hope everything works out. Let us know if any trouble. The patch numbering scheme is my, er, fault. I did it because real-world midi equipment tends to number everything starting at 1. For example I have a midi foot patch selector pedal. The LED bank and program numerical readouts a...

Re: kernel 6.6

Using latest kernel here on openSUSE tumbleweed: Linux localhost.localdomain 6.6.2-1-default #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Nov 20 11:22:36 UTC 2023 (263a855) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux No trouble due to kernel here. MusE needs a timing source. So MusE tries the Real Time Clock (RTC) first if it is ...

Re: MusE saving Uhbik plugin state problem

U-he Uhbik-A vs. TAL Reverb-4, as effects in a MusE effect rack: Uhe-vs-TAL-effect-param-saving.jpg The U-he does not update our generic UI when changing patches and thus MusE saves incorrect parameters in the song. The TAL does update our generic UI when changing patches and thus saves everything c...

Re: MusE saving Uhbik plugin state problem

Problem has been observed.
Waiting to get some time to test other plugins... ie. does it happen with others? I'll try this weekend.
I looked briefly through the code.
I seem to recall I fixed a very similar problem recently. I thought this was fixed.

Re: [solved..] Idiosyncratic combination causes crackles

Let's hope it stays that way. Side note: Can you guess which new audio server is now installed with this distro (and many others) ? I spent many hours reading very long threads and posts by many people including you and several other MusEers. Thank you for the roses! ("MusE is da bomb!" - ...

Re: Idiosyncratic combination causes crackles

Tested on a brand new install of openSUSE Tumbleweed (not by choice - by borking the previous install !). Quite painful to get set up again... This is a rolling distro - all packages are up to the minute very latest. I used Dexed vst3 and Odin2 vst3 downloaded from their sites, hosted in Carla-vst w...

Re: New MusE crash on big project.

Hi onefang Thanks for the song files. I got Surge 1.7.1 LV2 installed. I am seeing crashes with your file but it is not clear if they are the same crashes that you are getting. As soon as I got Surge installed it started crashing. Previously it was not, even with Yoshimi installed. So... There are a...

Re: New MusE crash on big project.

@impostor Are you sure? Does this remove LV2, linuxVST and even ladspa?

The ones that are missing here are:
Surge LV2
LL-Scope (???)
Invada meter LV2
RubberBand-pitchshifter (LADSPA)

I'm having trouble building Surge 1.7.1
Still trying...

Thanks.
T.

Re: New MusE crash on big project.

Hi. Trying to replicate. I am missing some of the plugins that you are using. So the song loads OK here, so far, without those plugins. One of them is Surge LV2. According to your song, the URI of Surge in your song is: https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/lv2/surge But this does not exist any more. ...
