Re: Non-sequencer bugs?
Lowercase t will trim a pattern. It only works if there are notes to trim to. I was hoping it would work more based on the range markers but alas it does not. So for example if you want to trim down to one bar you might need to add a note at the last beat of the bar before hitting trim or else it wi...

Re: Simple LV2 drum pattern generator?
Qmidiarp might be a solution. More designed as an arpeggiator but I think one could use it in the fashion you are referring to.
Other option would be to make a cabbage plugin.

Re: Compiling LMMS for Jack2
I now can't believe I did not even think about trying that. After spending a whole bunch of time installing other header files why did I not do that. OK I will give that a try. Thank you. Just to be clear I really didn't think about that, that was not sarcasm at you, it was sarcasm at me for such an...

Compiling LMMS for Jack2
Not sure if this is the best place for this. Here it goes though. I am running Debian Wheezy with the KXstudio repos. The version of LMMS included is a bit old and there is a key feature in newer versions I want to be able to use, specifically export track functionality. So I downloaded the latest s...

Re: HP Chromebook 14 and crouton
I got all the hardware issues sorted out with a combination of edits to rc.local and startup scripts managed by XFCE. So all is good there. Thank you though.

HP Chromebook 14 and crouton
So I recently purchased an HP Chromebook 14 (4gb ram version that comes with T-mobile data for life. Goal was to see if I could turn it into a mobile soft synth engine for stage usage. So here is what I went through and some results: (instructions abound out there for most steps so I won't repeat th...

Re: Acer C7 Chromebook $199 at Walmart runs KXStudio W/ JACK
Just an add on to this. I recently purchased the HP Chromebook 14 4g (the one with free t-mobile for life and 4gb ram). Using crouton I installed Debian Wheezy and added the deb-multimedia and KXStudio repos. Jack2 and Cadence work well, pretty much everything works as expected on a linux install on...

Yeah, and gave me a good laugh at myself for over looking something so obvious.AnthonyCFox wrote: I was just about to suggest something. Hey, at least it works, right?

Using multiple soft synths live
Was wondering if anyone is using software synthesizers live in Linux. I am thinking of moving from an ipad live for soft synths to a linux laptop. Realtime IO with the synths is fine but I want to be able to control as much as possible from my Akai MPK49 without having to touch the computer once my ...

Re: DSSI synths not producing audio
One side note, lv2's in ardour3 are working. Just to mention. I know it is not related but that does eliminate jack from the equation as being the problem, I would think.

DSSI synths not producing audio
So qtractor is my main host, but the same issue appears in rosegarden. If I setup a track with a DSSI plugin there is no sound. Also in Jack no connection for this instrument. If however I open the instrument standalone and send midi from qtractor to it all is well. I can get the plugin gui to load ...

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
So the only usable tuner available is Guitarix. Ken well, if you need only the tuner module from guitarix to be happy with Rakarrack, here is the tuner as stand alone jack app : gxtuner unpack and make, you can run make install, but it isn't needed, gxtuner will start from any location when jack is...

Re: Rakarrack and live guitar processing (bass)
I would like to be able to turn FX modules in Guitarix on and off with a keypress like Rakarrack can do with the number pad. In guitarix the way to go is over presets (1-9), so you can switch more then one effect with a single key-press if you need. You could ex/import preset-files for different se...
