Re: Maintaining a Real Time Stable Kernel
For the majority of audio use cases, on a modern desktop machine with a recent distribution, a stock install of e.g. Ubuntu with no tweaks will give you (subjectively) at least equivalent performance to other popular OS. I've been developing audio software and plug-ins on a variety of desktop Linux ...

Re: High-end plug-ins for Linux
Just uploaded some new builds, which addresses an issue that could affect initialisation of the ACM500 EQ in some hosts, and cleans up some namespace / symbol issues (even though they weren't causing any known problems).

High-end plug-ins for Linux
If you already use Linux for audio production, or if you've thought about making the switch but haven't found the right plug-ins yet, this range now available from the Applied Computer Music Technologies website could help. Available as VST2 for Linux, the set of plug-ins feature modern, intuitive U...

Re: Do you want more people to use Linux for music?
I would guess that it refers to a fairly large demographic that will not use an operating system that doesn't come installed on hardware they buy at a store. The process of downloading the installation software, putting it on some kind of loadable media (DVD or USB storage dongle), configuring the ...

Re: Matching Equalizer
Please note that this fix is mostly wanted to be applied for all your plugins... If you're referring to handling denormals?, don't forget that plug-ins are running in someone else's application / process, quite possibly with other plug-ins also present - therefore it might be considered impolite to...

Re: ACM-2A Plug-In for Linux
Do you have any plans of making it cross platform or will it stay Linux only? Its Linux only at the moment - with more DAWs available for Linux (and more developers porting their plug-ins) the idea was to create a new set of plug-ins which might appeal to e.g. professional users thinking of making ...

Re: GUI: JUCE ?
I built an X11 graphics engine / framework, together with all the control widgets, dialogues, etc (because X doesn't provide any of that) and an openGL renderer on top of it (including all the shaders and everything that goes with that). (I also built my DSP libraries - from the ground up - includin...

Another addition to the range: https://www.acmt.co.uk/uploads/ACM500-panel-600px.png The ACM500 channel EQ builds on the original EQ500 processing, offering different control ranges, mid Q control, a highpass filter for taming subsonic frequencies or acoustic noise / rumble, switchable phase / polar...

Re: ACM-2A Plug-In for Linux
So what are the perks to spend £36.00 for an eq when one already has the PTC-2A ? I did a quick compare and they sound pretty much the same. Obviously no-one has to buy it - if you're happy with the original PTC-2A, that's great - but we get feedback - mainly from some of our professional users, th...

Re: ACM-2A Plug-In for Linux
1) What is the difference in principle between the ACM-2A and an OvertoneDSP PTC-2A ? 2) Well, what's the difference between Applied Computer Music Technologies and OvertoneDSP ? 1. What I wanted to do with the ACM-2A was explore the idea of keeping the visual cues for those familiar with e.g. orig...

ACM-2A Plug-In for Linux
I recently posted something about this to the Ardour (and Reaper) forums - anyway, a little while ago (as a user, rather than a developer), I found myself trying out a plug-in, with a great looking 3D modelled photo-realistic UI - but I couldn’t help feeling that sometimes you can have too much of a...

Re: OverTone DSP V3 Vintage EQ Plug-ins - March 2019 update
I'm pretty sure existing users get this information already as mail, so the free update argument isn't valid I put it in this thread because it was an update, and there are regularly updates from other developers - I wasn't aware that it was forbidden for commercial developers. I made the post conc...

Re: OverTone DSP V3 Vintage EQ Plug-ins - March 2019 update
so why the hell do you feel the need to post your advertise here? It's a free update for existing users - I'm just letting people know it's available - if the forum moderators want to remove this thread, or think it better moved elsewhere, I don't have a problem with that - but I don't expect to be...

Re: OverTone DSP V3 Vintage EQ Plug-ins - March 2019 update
I wouldn't suggest any longer to move this post to the Marketplace... It's just an update - move it wherever you think best. Let's happily enjoy the commerce take over this forum. The same 'commerce' that provided nice things like support for Linux VST plug-ins in one of the most popular open sourc...
