Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?

I think that easiest way is to suspend pipewire and check the sound with plain alsa.

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

I can't recall where I got that DS works with WF, maybe in some combinations of previous versions, but it doesn't work now with recent WF and DS.
So if you really need it - you can wrap it with wine or Carla or Ildaeli.

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

You definitely run WF under PulseAudio see your first device in list. To use pure alsa run it with pa suspended: pasuspender -- Waveform12 then select your audiocard (for input and out), one of which is used by you: "ALC236 Analog; Front output/input" or "USB Stream Output." Dece...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

Aside from system tuning there is thing that WF works with ALSA or Jack only, not with PulseAudio or PipeWire which just emulates them.

How did you install DecentSampler? Is it VST2 or VST3? What does ldd DecentSampler.so says? And does it work in other hosts like Carla?

Re: OBxd is free/libre but how to building it?

You need the JUCE sources and to deal with JUCE Projucer, open "OB-Xd Linux.jucer" then save it (or /path/to/Projucer --resave OB-Xd\ Linux.jucer) also you may need to disable VST2 target if you don't have VST2_SDK. Then compile as usual with "CONFIG=Release make -C Builds/LinuxMakefi...

To have a fully functional plugin from the DiscoDSP codebase, it is going to require that the proprietary code that is used in the DiscoDSP version be replaced.

no, you'll only lose skins and presets

Re: Error during the installation of Native Access (Ubuntu 22.04)

Did you follow this part?: Some plugins or sound libraries will install as expected, but if you get an 'Error while mounting disk image' installation failure, then you will need to install the plugin or sound library manually. You will find a .iso file in your downloads directory that you can mount ...

Re: Error during the installation of Native Access (Ubuntu 22.04)

Hi,

I don't know if it works for Wine 6.0.3 (it's old), take a look at https://github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge ... -and-fixes you need a Native Access legacy installer.

you can use different devices with jack https://jackaudio.org/faq/multiple_devices.html

or if you use qjackctl, go to advanced settings and select usb mic for input and onboard soundcard for output:

are built using the WDL-OL/IPlug and iPlug2 frameworks

it depends on which iPlug version is used, while it's possible to use with Linux, it's very experimental and incomplete

Re: Reaper with CLAP support

All this libre-software purism looks hypocritical since you use closed BIOSes, firmwares, mobile apps, home appliance, cars etc. If I had a choice I would prefer all of them to be open - except maybe cars, I have mixed feelings about them since they pose a safety risk and I don't want just any idio...
