Re: Is there an audio interface that I can use also as mixer

Which one do you guys think is better? Sound quality-wise, especially? I would say that the same, kind of cold sound. You can try asking about it on gearslutz but these are a cheap stuff. Uhm...what do you mean by cold? And do you mean on the outputs, or in the recording? Also, what about this? htt...

Re: Is there an audio interface that I can use also as mixer

OK, I've checked. Both mixers behave as I would like. Behringer's: http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/UFX1204.aspx Phonic's: http://www.phonic.com/en/helix-board-18-universal.html (discontinued but still available online). Which one do you guys think is better? Sound quality-wise, especially? Than...

Exported audio has random clicks on some players

Hello! The audio I export with Ardour and Audacity, no matter the format, has some random clicking noises when I play it, for example, with SMPlayer, or with Chrome and Firefox. This is particularly annoying because I would like to upload my music on the internet. It seems that this does *not* happe...

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Hi paul, I've re-installed KXStudio 14.04.2 and ticked the box to use the default dark theme. I compiled Shuriken and it seems to work fine here - there's no black rectangle and the waveform displays as normal. I'm not really sure what to suggest. Perhaps you've got a graphics driver issue, though ...

License of "Big Mono"

Hello!
I really like and use the drum kit Big Mono by Analogue Drums, here: http://www.analoguedrums.com/details-bm.php.
But...is it free only as a beer, or can I use it to really produce music?

I don't want to run into trouble...

Thank you!

Re: Ardour lately crashes and freezes a lot

Ardour 4.2, KXStudio 14.04. I've looked, yeah, most of the problems traced back to Carla as vst (even if deactivated!). Now I just handle it externally (thanks patchbay!), so no problem. I hope it will get fixed, but actually for my workflow having everything outside the DAW works even better, it's ...

Ardour lately crashes and freezes a lot

Hello. After the last update Ardour is very hard to use. Pressing the "record" button makes the program freeze for about 20 seconds, and sometimes it crashes as well. Other transport operations have the same effect...Am I the only one? What's going on?

Hi. I don't know if you have had time to look into this. Anyway, the problem persists, at least for me!

Re: Moony - realtime Lua as programmable glue in LV2

Hello! Excuse my ignorance, but I really do not understand how to use it. I have installed it, and I can see the plugins (A1xA1, etc).
But how do I open the UI? Or, how do I write/change my own code? Do I have to launch some particular command? Edit some particular text file?

Thanks!

Ardour, default settings

Hi. Is there a way to tell Ardour which settings to use as default? For example, I would like OSC to be *enabled* everytime I start Ardour, so I don't have to open the preferences every time. Also when I create a new track or bus, no matter what it defaults to "mono". I would like, for exa...

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

It might be worth compiling the latest source code as the GUI has changed alot since the last release. It's pretty easy to build Shuriken - instructions are on the GitHub page: https://github.com/rock-hopper/shuriken If the waveform display is still all black I'll look into this at the weekend. Ok,...

RockHopper wrote:Hi paul, are you using the latest code from Git or a package from an earlier release? If this issue is present in the latest code I'll need to look into it before the next release.
Hi. I added the ppa and installed the package that was there. It says v0.4.
