Re: U-he linux port talk moves to Reddit

glowrak wrote in reddit u-he section: "This whole linux port venture is very unique, and may be historic, in the music software industry, when the dust finally settles" Yep, that's how I see it from times to times. Historic. As in: tales from a distant past. :? Posting here since I asked r...

Re: Gospel / Jazz / Pop - Collaboration

The production is very good for a pop format. Guitar chords are a tad innovative here and there. The vocals are very good. The dynamics are well balanced and well driven. If no Windows/Mac machine were involved, goes to show what can be done professional-sounding in Linux. Can you say something abou...

Re: U-he linux port talk moves to Reddit

Now u-he is visibly decoupled from Linux releases. Yesterday/today there were 2 new beta releases with no Linux mention whatsoever on KVR. And nothing by Alex who is certainly otherwise very busy. A sub-forum would have been nice, but I presume Urs said no. I do not see how Reddit is an improvement ...

Pianoteq 6.10 update available

"Version 6.1 introduces a new spatialisation technique which brings more air and presence to the instruments, increasing realism. Minor re-voicing has also been done on some instruments/presets. Furthermore, new features are introduced along with support for the NKS (Native Kontrol Standard) ex...

Re: Sea of the books

Compared to the previous one, this one shines by having less (no pads) and having more in the interaction between the cello/violin and the harpsichord, and the flexibility of the harpsichord play regarding pedal bass notes and high flying notes. It makes the composition comes across better. The last...

Re: Music produced in Linux

The Fede Valdivia songs are very good productions. For style only, I tend to prefer the other track by Carlos Lagos.

Ciao.

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

Strangely enough I was about to update the Bitwig upgrade plan for a year when 159€ ended up much more at paypal than a standard xe.com conversion. So much taxes would not make sense. I emailed them, no reply yet. UPDATE Regarding Bitwig, they list their prices in € and USD. So depending on where y...

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

I've to say that 66.38 euros is a good price for mixbus. But i don't understand the additional 17euros of taxes. It is not to be cheap, but for every investment i want to know what i'm buying. Strangely enough I was about to update the Bitwig upgrade plan for a year when 159€ ended up much more at ...

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

Interesting. The more I find out about them the less I like the way they do things. One gets all plugins witht he DAW, so you can try them. Not that bad of an idea. I remember downloading some of them two years ago, now they're bundled with the DAW. They're in /opt/Mixbus*/lib/LV2/. Each one has th...

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

I use the Multiband Compressor and the Micro-Glide in almost every session. The Micro-Glide is quite something. The Spectral Compressor is also pretty neat. Wonder what they'll come up with next, eventually. A low-level compressor would be nice although since they're from a hardware background it's...

OK, so it seems to work for just about everyone with all the thanks floating around. And since there's no activity in the mailing list that I can see from the email client here whose configuration did not change, there IS a need to subscribe again. UPDATE Nope, that's not it. The reply was: "An...

Re: linuxaudio.org compromised - 2018-01-29

Thanks for all the hardwork. Everyone should definitely pitch in to write an opera about these linux heroes. Care must be taken when writing on opera ! "New research finds music can be used to hack smartphones, computers and cars" " .... likened the devious possibilities of hacking t...
