Re: [ANN] ZynAddSubFX 3.0.5 - “The Butterfly Effect” Release
I know in ardour if I use 16 instances of Yoshimi as an LV2 it uses 3x the memory as one instance with multi out. Also, those 16 instances will make Ardour's DSP soar to an astonishing 55% when using a buffer of 256 and Yoshimi's multi-out LV2 only uses 20% DSP with all 16 channels going crazy. At l...

Re: ArchAudioUtils
I would put it in /usr/local/bin if you did not acquire the scripts and build it from the aur. The reason is that maybe one day someone might make another binary by that name and install it to /usr/bin per the good practices for creating PKGBUILDS on the Archwiki. This might lead to a file conflict....

Re: ArchAudioUtils
win2linvst should be put in /usr/local/bin and you can create a link to it for your file managers scripts folder (i.e. ln -s /usr/local/bin/win2linvst ~/.local/share/nautilus/scripts/win2linvst). jackcli can be run from anywhere or if you want bash to autocomplete the command, again put it in /usr/l...

ArchAudioUtils
I would like to announce a few useful scripts I wrote to help with some of the pain points of other utilities. Here is the GitHub link to the project: https://github.com/usrmusicman/ArchStudioUtils

Re: [ANN] ZynAddSubFX 3.0.5 - “The Butterfly Effect” Release
Has zyn-fusion been merged into the main project yet? I know the GUI has been open sourced for over a year now. Also, I noticed there is a multi-out variant (standalone), will you have an LV2/VST variant that can be built by source with multi-out at some point like Yoshimi?

Re: Zrythm - An highly automated, intuitive, Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) - Release v0.4.003
It looks cool I wonder if you can add a score editor similar to what reaper has but without the mess when you do more then one voice on a track. Another idea could be to somehow use musescore as your score editor when you click a little treble clef symbol in Zrythm. This would open up musescore with...

Never looked at this DAW, how would it fair against a Muse for tracking and Ardour for mastering setup?

Re: Guitarix 0.38.1 released
Seems nice so far, I wonder if you'll consider bumping the version to 1.0 once you are happy with an X11 port. Weird people still port to X11 isn't there a way to write plugins for Wayland yet. This might be something to consider going into the future. QT seems like a decent library, look at samplv1...

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse
Sorry, for the long-overdue response, I think I might be on to something in regards to why helm LV2 is crashing. If you check the image attachment below you'll see what my observations are. Klangfalter and others have the same situation. In order to reproduce what I have on the image open Muse and g...

Re: What do you want from a %100 free/libre SFZ sampler?
A gui to easily load sfz's in the plugin itself. VST and LV2 support and look at all the opcodes supported by sforzando for a reference for the standard. Pretty much that. Maybe custom GUI support to allow users to make their own sample bank interfaces. HISE might be a good place to start for buildi...

Re: Airwave VST bridge
Carla --> Enable Experimental Features --> Export as LV2 --> drop a plugin in Carla --> Export as LV2 --> check your lv2 is in a directory that your DAW can see in its plugin scanner. That's the workaround for now. LinVst, in my opinion, is the most stable and compatible of all the bridges, not to m...

Re: MUSIC DISTROS
CPU: If you can go Ryzen 7 do it? Soundcard: MOTU or Focusrite (Scarlett, Carlett line) seems the best supported. MEM: 16GB minimum or 32GB if you use heavy sampling plugins like kontakt through LinVst or Carla's wine bridge. Storage: OS and Sample libraries should try to be stored on an SSD for max...

Re: Best DAW for the casual beginner?
As I said before Muse and Ardour together are the best solution. I use Mixbus 32c and Muse together. Another really awesome solution would be to use Musescore and Ardour together get it all at once as Musescore 3 now is able to split out midi ports and channels on midi out making it way more usable ...

Re: Distrho Plugins crash in Muse
Hmmm. last I tried tumbleweed it ended with dependency hell, I'd rather develop against Fedora's Rawhide. Still works here on Arch and I tried all the kits including multi-out. Whoops, I forgot to give you these two package versions that may help more. lilv = 0.24.4 lv2 = 1.16.0 Archlinux rolls both...
