Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb

I used Dragonfly in a recent Renoise project. And somehow the plugin has some issues. There is some kind of "feedback noise" generated by Dragonfly sometimes and it makes the sound of the whole project completely go off. Observed a similar issue once in Ardour. I'm really sorry about this...

Re: Can't download/install Carla

Start from here: https://kxstudio.linuxaudio.org/Repositories

Use the listed commands to make apt aware of the KXStudio repos, then you can use your package manager to install Carla.

Fatboy Soundfont

I haven't listened to this at all, but the description seems promising: Fatboy Soundfont DOES THE MUSIC SOUND CRAPPY IN YOUR OLD 80'S / 90'S PC GAMES? FatBoy was created specifically to make MIDI sound better. Hopefully, a  lot better. Any games which utilize MIDI-based soundtracks will sound dramat...

Re: Waves Under Wind

Wow, thanks everybody. This was just a quick experiment, I wasn't expecting much response! So if these are your beginnings in recording, then hats off - you did a very good job my friend! Care to tell us how you did it, and what was used for recording, processing, and mixing? I'm inspired by musicia...

Waves Under Wind

This was a quick experiment, recording and mixing acoustic instruments:

I'm still really new to recording, any feedback is welcome.

Re: Towering Granite

I like it. Electronic orchestral instruments always sound cheesy compared to the real thing, but the composition is strong. Thanks for listening Milo. I have heard some virtual orchestration that I really liked, so there must be a way to minimize the cheesy sound, but I think I have a long road to ...

Towering Granite

Here is an unfinished rough draft of an orchestral piece I'm working on: https://soundcloud.com/user-201997735/towering-granite-rough-draft This is inspired by the many granite cliffs that are common in the mountains near where I live. I would like to expand upon this, but for now I'm looking for so...

Re: brush kit for Hydrogen?

Here's a song I just finished using the brush kit in Hydrogen: https://alansanderson.band/2019/01/05/u-turn/. Enjoy! Great piece! I agree with others, it would be helpful if we could host this kit somewhere that everybody can get to it. For what it's worth, Drum Gizmo also has a nice set of brushes...

Re: Love Letters During Winter

The saxophone is my favorite part, but maybe I'm a biased reed-player  I also liked how you did layered vocal takes to harmonize your voice. How did you do the piano? I couldn't tell if it was a midi track or a real piano recorded with a mic. I'll have to give this a better listen later... I'm ...

I have learned a lot since I made that template. I'm in the midst of updating it to be much more simple, without lots of complicated busses and signal routing like it has now.

Re: Percussion Synthesizer

Nice! I'm curious, could you give us more details about your ambitions with "a sampler or orchestra virtual instrument"? I might be able to collaborate, depending on what you are trying to do.
