Re: 2 interfaces, 2 jackd, couple them

I found zita-njbridge as well. Latency is much lower than using jack-stdout/in for coupling 2 jackd.

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

Can't even find a configure option in Audacity, so I'll use the solution described in viewtopic.php?f=27&t=18785

2 interfaces, 2 jackd, couple them

As I wrote Ihave 2 interfaces and need all of their outputs. My first attempt with alsa_out on the 2nd interface worked but when it ran with 48000 then starting Audacity broke it. So I am using another setup now: jackd (on interface 1) jackd -n monitor (on interface 2) They can be coupled: jack-stdo...

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

I have a suspicion that it's Audacity's ALSA code that does bad things so I'll see if Ican compile Audacity with JACK support only.

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

Audacity seems to do bad things. That might explain the crashing/misbehaving alsa_out after starting Audacity: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=69539&start=30 "2. Audacity does alter system sound settings; in my case see the HPF setting on Xonar (or other reports with...

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

When I install jackd1 instead of jackd2 then alsa_out behaves different: it crashes as soon as I start Audacity.

Me, too. I can run alsa_out on 48000 and 96000 too, as long as I don't start Audacity or kill/start alsa_out after starting Audacity.

Bad, Audacity, bad!

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

jackd with 48000 on Scarlett 2i4 (recording, direct monitoring, headphones) alsa_out with 44100 on Scarlett 2i2 (active speakers) -> works (huh?) I'll stay with that setup: jackd on 48000 avoids clicks (I think I had some one recordings, too). But can anyone explain why alsa_out works with 44100 be...

Re: Scarlett Series: What mapping to use?

I am a new Scarlett 2i4 user and wanted to ask you what is the channel mapping you use? I have noticed that when using the headphone channel selector to 1-2 I can hear both the DAW signal and the dry signal from my bass (input 1). When using the headphone selector to 3-4 i can map the Bitwig master...

Re: Good piano software - latency*

Hi. I'm trying to buid a portable piano based rig. I was thinking having a midi controller and some linux app playing samples in a notebook. My concern is the latency. Are there any soft with a decent piano sound with a very low latency? Thanks!! A free solution is Linuxsampler with the Salamander ...

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

The more I try to find out, the worse it gets. With 48000 the Focusrite Scarletts work perfectly on each of my PCs when used by jackd. With 44100 I have slight clicks about once per minute on 2 of 3 machines. But wait, there is more: Notebook with Core i7, Xubuntu 16.04, jackd 1.9.12 jackd with 4410...

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

I can't believe it. The combination of my laptop in my 2nd flat, Scarlett 2i2 1st gen, Xubuntu 16.04, kernel 4.13.0-38-lowlatency #43-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT doesn't have the problem.

Have to retry in a few days at home.

Re: Rare clicks/crackles when using 44100 (sync problem?)

But then the sound is coming out of my Headphone Jack on the computer not the interface, right? I tried but it's not working, I think I'm missing something. However I'm pretty sure that it will be fine with the internal soundcard. Use in alsa_out the interface that you normaly use with jackd, and u...

Re: Poll: What samplerate do you use with jack?

It seems that some hard- and software works best with 48000. But then it's a bit cumbersome to create FLAC/mp3 with 44100. So I am interested what's your everyday samplerate is. I simply exported a file done in 48khz as mp3 in Reaper and it sounds absolutely ok. What's the problem? I record songs i...
