Take the Helm and engage Fusion drive - Spotlight Kyd
[...] Really jazzy and eventually thought of casino levels from Sonic games.

The reason for that is probably this:

Re: Geonkick - logarithmic canvas

I don't quite understand the need for this, TBH. AFAICS, envelopes in Geonkick can have as many points as you like. By inserting enough points it should be possible to approximate a logarithmic or exponential curve close enough, IMHO. But it's open source, so if someone wants to scratch that itch, s...

Re: My sampled pianos

I'm interested in your workflow for creating these sample libraries. Would you be willing to answer some question? I have a Yamaha CP-70B electric grand, which I want to sample at some point and an acquaintance asked me, whether I would be interested in creating an open-licensed sample library from ...

Re: My sampled pianos

I did a small test of these piano libraries just now, and I must say, I'm impressed. Very professionally done, clean, even, and sounding very nice. I recorded a piano-only version of an old piece of mine and rendered it with each of the four different Piano models. I used a Studiologic SL 990 Pro (F...

Re: Looking for someone to record a cello track for my composition

Hi Tobias, the cello track still needs to be recorded, yes, so thank you for your offer. I considered using a commercial service but I haven't gotten around to re-recording the backing track yet (I want to make it a bit faster and replace the acoustic guitars and mandolin with better versions). I'll...

Re: Libre Music Challenge #22: General Midi

Here's my feedback for this month's entries and my votes are in as well. A-Lin - General Relamidity Smooth sound mix and the track is overall very pleasant to listen too. Many GM sounds are used inventively outside of their usual context. Extra karma points for including the "Tubular bells"...

Next question: Should dials show numeric values, or should numbers be hidden to encourage "trust your ears"?

Absolutely show actual values. And let the user enter a specific value via the keyboard. And if you can, use actual real-life units like dB, Hz, cents, etc.

Uh, the 2nd submission wins all loudness wars :) Yeah, to get chain of sausages even in the SoundCloud waveform is quite an achievement! ---- BTW, I added a link to the Ardour session archive of the project to my submission post above. I hope the external files for the IR and the amp sim plug...

Looking for someone to record a cello track for my composition

Do you play the ceo and are willing and able to record a cello traxk on a composition of mine? I can provide sheet music, a backing track and an Ardour project for recording. The piece is roughly in the style of an Irish ballad and the other instruments are piano, guitar, bass, mandolin and a low wh...

Re: Libre Music Challenge #21: Radium

My critique of the submissions (also voted): A-Lin - Poptikus Good use of stereo movement Nice contrast between Karplus-Strong plucks and sine arpeggios. The intro until the lead comes in at 0:50 could be shorter. When the chord pattern changes at 1:28 a stronger change in instrumentation (e.g. adde...
