QTractor audio ghost copies for pre-arranged looping
Hi, I am interested in the topic of pre-arranged looping, like Elise Trouw does: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl9GtO_vQxw There are tutorials on how to do that with Ableton Live, but as my DAW of choice is QTractor I was wondering if this can be done with that, too. Recording can be automated, so...

Re: How to use vmpq with Carla/jack?
Thank you! I will make a support request, I just wanted to make sure that the problem is not on my side.
Thanks,
Andreas

Re: How to use vmpq with Carla/jack?
Hi, as this topic is not yet very old I re-activate it. I would also like to use vmpk with jack / alsa. I am on Arch Linux, and have the problem that vmpk crashes as soon as I change the midi out driver (which is sonivox by default). I would like to know if this is an issue with my distro or if it i...

Re: Behringer AI so quiet it's barely audible
I have a Behringe UMC 18-20, the mic level is no problem. But: The Shure is a dynamic mic, those are best at low disctance. Also, you can (and should) turn off phantom power. From your name I guess that you are playing recorder (soprano? ). Place the mic like you are singing (mouth at mic), now add ...

Re: Amps in GxPlugins
Good advice! I'll give that a try and also try out the supersonic with bass.

Re: How to play MIDI sounds through Zoom conferencing?
I am not sure, but I think that the solution you linked to works with pulse only. Not with jack. If you start jack, you can (as you did) still listen to software that uses pulse with the audio sink (you direkt pulse stuff to jack) , but not the other way round (because Zoom uses pulse / alsa). I am ...

Re: Amps in GxPlugins
Thank you! It's good to know that it's not bad to use two speaker simulations in a row, I had thought that this would take away too much presence. I was looking for an alternative to gxSupersonic for Clean/low distortion sounds, the supersonic is great for darker sounds, but even with low gain it is...

Re: Amps in GxPlugins
From testing with my bad ears: I think, the plexi does not include a speaker (as the original plexi), for me, it sounds much better with gxcabinet after it.

Amps in GxPlugins
Hi, I have a question about the amps in the GxPlugins (extra Plugins). I like to use the supersonic and the cream machine, both are complete amps with speaker simulation at the end. Then there is, for instance: GxBlueAmp.lv2electric_plug - Single - ended head amplifier simulation inspired by late 19...

Re: QTractor crashes when inserting Calf Plugin (V 0.9.21)
It showed that building QTractor alone was sufficient, doesn't crash anymore. Now I've got that nice "calf doesn't like desktop scaling" problem, but that's another story. (I didn't want to build calf from source, as I have pulseeffects installed, they have calf as dependency, so I was afr...

Are you on Arch, too?
Ok, I'll compile both from source, no problem.

QTractor crashes when inserting Calf Plugin (V 0.9.21)
Hi, I'm on Arch Linux, use latest QTractor and latest Calf Plugins. I get a crash immediately when inserting a calf plugin. This all used to work some time ago, I haven't used QTractor for a while. Other plugins work, I guess that this is a GUI-version-clash thingie (though Calf doesn't use QT, does...

Re: 3 Steps Forward 2 Back: Progress and Frustrations with fundamental DE issues
Hi, I have the latest plasma, here you can definitely configure the desktop-number to be shown. There are two configs: Configure virtual desktops (where you can set the number of virtual desktops, for instance) and configure virtual desktop switcher (where you can configure the app that switches tho...

Re: Um, help?"
Answering the question: If you use MuseScore, you can a) Record the output of MuseScore with another program (like Audacity, for instance) and then record your vocals with that program, too. b) Synchronize MuseScore with another program. If you press the play button in the Master Program, the other ...

Re: first factors for audio interface
"instrumental music" is a wide field. Usage of microphones, condenser-microphones in particular, has been mentioned already. Another point is usage of virtual instruments and latency. If you want to use virtual instruments, latency will almost always be an issue. If you are reading reviews...
