Re: Linux PC Builds for Audio Production. Recommended Hardware

I also avoid like the plague music/audio hardware that needs software in Linux. Focurite is a good example of that. I know that I'm stepping on toes here because most people love Focusrite, but I hate it with a passion. I don't care that a Linux driver has been written for certain non-class complia...

Re: Linux PC Builds for Audio Production. Recommended Hardware

Avoid like the plague hardware that needs "special" drivers (especially for Midi) and/or software to configure it. Even if it's linux software. what's wrong with such devices and software for them? There will come a day that in a new OS your closed source proprietary driver won't work any...

Re: any Linux plugins can do this?

There are few offline stem separation tools available in Linux. Tracktion Waveform has built-in.
Also with some effort you can build https://mosynthkey.github.io/Melissa/in ... html#about with tenzorflow support.

Re: Ardour 8 released

I noticed version 7 is in the openSUSE repositories though. Maybe I just need to wait for Ardour adding a different payment method. :) Why are you still refusing to use proaudio repository?? Now I am confused. I thought I was already using the pro audio repository. :) I have Geekosdaw installed. At...

Re: New wiki article on installing a Linux audio system

A somewhat safe way to do it would be by building your own kernel and disabling both mitigations and your network access; e.g. my ethernet module is the e1000e, so I would set my .config with CONFIG_E1000E=n CONFIG_CMDLINE="mitigations=off" isn't unplugging a patch-cord is a much more fas...

Re: Plugin development philosophy

So not simply editing a .ttl file somewhere? The LV2 ttl does not specify the plugin name and VST3 doesn't have a ttl file. I'm not certain about other plugin formats. I'm not an expert, but: LV2 ttl has doap:name field which exactly contains a name of plugin VST3 (since 3.7.5) has optional modulei...

Re: rakarrack-plus

I love Rakarrack but it has its quirks. Interested in hearing from anyone using rakarrack-plus. Are there any repos with this packaged for Ubuntu? Will it ever replace rakarrack in the usual repos? (KX, Ubuntu, Arch, etc). In openSUSE proaudio https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/multimedia%3Apr...
