Re: Best multimedia app on Linux
I don't believe there is such a thing as a best distro. There is only the best distro for you. Absolutely. As for multimedia distributions, I would recommend either AVLinux http://www.bandshed.net/avlinux/ or LibaZiK studio audio http://librazik.tuxfamily.org/base-site-LZK/english.php . Both work m...

Re: KX Studio at the End of Standard Support - what now?
If I installed Librazik is it enough like Debian that I can just use it? According to my experiences: Yes. It's very user-friendly. You may install the librazik-apt-non-fr package https://librazik.tuxfamily.org/doc2/comprehension/paquets_librazik#librazik-apt-non-fr . This might help a lot for all ...

LibraZiK is a real good distribution - I use it for professional radio work, with very good results. My favourite audio distribution.thetotalchaos wrote: LibraZiK is a digital audio-software music studio and related documentation, and is based on Debian GNU/Linux Stable.

Re: AV Linux 2019.4.10 Released!
Thank you very much indeed .
Just a question: Is it possible to do an upgrade from AVL2018 to 2019 ? (For example by modifying the sources ? )
Or will I have to do a new install ? (I use to have a separate partition for /home.)

Re: Looking for KXStudio 18.04 testing
I could try to upload my file KXStudio_18.04a2.iso on Dropbox for you - if falkTX doesn't disaggree. (Not sure if it works with those 2,6 GB. )

Re: Beginner question about KXStudio
- my knowledge of Linux is beginner level - English is not my native language [...] I am new to Linux and maybe sound to others naive or so. We have all been totally new to Linux at times. :) I must say that as a not-any-more-newbie to Linux, I found even KX Studio 12.04 (which was really easy to i...

I like AV Linux very much but I like even better LibraZiK studio https://librazik.tuxfamily.org/base-site-LZK/english.php#install , which is also based on Debian 9. Originally it's a French distribution - to get an English version, install the package librazik-apr-non-fr https://librazik.tuxfamily.o...

Yes, unfortunately :( . I use to get the message - at the very beginning: FAT-fs (sdb1): IO charset ascii not found mount: mounting /dev/sdb1 on /live/medium failed: invalid argument I've tried to find out something about it in several debian forums (for example http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.ph...

AV Linux 2018: upgrade from AV Linux 2017 ?
It has been my pleasure to set up AV Linux 2018 on one of my desktop pcs yesterday afternoon. Thanks a lot for this system. :D On my Dell Latitude E-6430 notebook with an existing AV Linux 2017 I tried to set up AV Linux 2018 to replace that 2017 version but there is an error: the 2018 live system d...

Re: AVLINUX Carla and win VST - works in Bitwig but not as standalone nor as plugin in Ardour 5.8
Man I have wasted two weeks I have tried to set up a system like the one you described with accordion vst and a sequencer - first (just to check it out) MuseScore (with its MIDI output) then, after it worked, Ardour also. I have made all connections in Carla's plugin windows directly. No sound prob...
