Re: AVLinux server @ bandshed.net (half-) down

Meta (OT): Can also disappear through attacks (wasn't http://linuxaudio.org/ offline in early 2018 because of that (by the way: Why not "http s "?)?). That was also because the security was a bit relaxed there. Security updates were installed, but the machine never rebooted, so they were ...

Re: AVLinux server @ bandshed.net (half-) down

Yeah, you should never take these things for granted. What if it disappears? Or more, what if next month KXStudio disappears too? There is always a cost on maintaining these projects. Both monetarily and time-wise. You can't expect developers to keep on doing them without feeling tired. Lots of proj...

Re: Excellent vocal synthesizer project, runs on Linux: Synthesizer V

I recognize those widgets :P I guess it uses juce as framework/toolkit. Sadly I don't think this will ever be opensource. Not with that license... "Synthesized Singing" means any audio, singing, speech, poetry reading, chant or other output produced by you, using the Software and the Voice...

Re: MusE 3 Debian Binary

a big software packed in 31k size?
something is not right...

dont download and run random binaries people...

EDIT: the binary won't run as-is anyway, there are shared libs that will be needed, and system files too.

Re: For those of you that use samplers - do you use GIG?

Sorta. It uses libfluidsynth API to handle SF2 files and render MIDI events.
Same thing as other plugins out there do, like fluidsynth-dssi, calf-fluidsynth and AVLDrums.

It is not embedded in the actual code, but uses its library.

note that looped regions with midi data is currently buggy in ardour.
it is one of the big features/fixes in the upcoming ardour6.

Re: For those of you that use samplers - do you use GIG?

Thanks for your input alex. It is true, Carla is not yet ready for such high-end setups. When I initially added linuxsampler to carla I had big plans, but seeing a lot of issues happening with it I am not able to rely on it (nor do I want to, anymore). Maybe I am using its plugin API the wrong way, ...

Re: For those of you that use samplers - do you use GIG?

Carla blacklists ls16 and linuxsampler plugins right now, as they conflict with its internal linuxsampler usage. ls16_gui is something for developers and applications to use, not end-users. (It is part of the DSSI spec to have external applications providing the UI) you can try out the plugin like t...

For those of you that use samplers - do you use GIG?

It is time for another poll! :D Do to conflicts and issues with linuxsampler plugin API, I am removing support for it from Carla's codebase. Linuxsampler is used for GIG and SFZ file handling. For SFZ I already have a replacement, SFZero embed in carla (already tested to work well) But no replacemen...

Re: jack audioadapter: Resampling with q0 ... q4?

Without going through the code to check, the best way to check yourself is just a spectrum analyzer I think.

But I believe the quality in this case should be irrelevant yeah.
Just dont take it as certain, I did not check the code :P
