Re: Stereo widening

singforme wrote:what do you guys use for Stereo widening in Linux?

Same as anywhere else - mid-side recording
easy to adjust stereo image in post-production

If i had the money - ambisonic microphone

but using pan pots for mixdown is usually enough

Re: Remove duplicate pulseaudio sink

I mostly use QjackCtl, but have Cadence too have seen duplicate sink/source connections happen in Debian/Ubuntu distributions, but only takes one check to avoid it First time starting Cadence check connections and see if Pulseaudio sink/source is already there It is usually triggered by Pulseaudio m...

Re: headphones always muted at restart

With headphones unmuted and everything else set correct in Alsamixer, use command:

Code: Select all

sudo alsactl store

ALSA settings are stored in file 'asound.state', location can vary depending on distribution

Re: Remove duplicate pulseaudio sink

Assuming Pulseaudio sink/sources are being loaded by 1. Cadence settings 2. Module configuration in Pulseaudio Simplest way is turn off Pulseaudio bridge in Cadence If you want to turn it off in Pulseaudio configuration: ⋅ copy etc/pulse/default.pa to ~/.config/pulse/default.pa (optional) ...

Re: Differences between the individual operating systems

Thank you very much! Recording that. Is LSP and foobar2000 an own plugin format like LADSPA, DSSI, Vamp, LV2, VST, AU, AAX, RTAS? I'll leave that out for now. If it is a format of its own, I will of course include it. This is about the different plugin formats. Meta level. :-) EDIT: Maybe LSP and f...

Re: Microphone - loud in jack, too quiet in pulseaudio

Is microphone gain level set in USB interface so peak led flashes occasionally to confirm good audio level going to JACK? suggest you connect level meters in JACK at USB input, to confirm level is good arriving in JACK and also at output to Pulseaudio JACK Sink, to confirm level is not reduced in JA...

Re: help! -- unprovoked pulseaudio jack conflict

Most Linux distributions need package pulseaudio-jack for the Pulseaudio sinks/sources to JACK If that was not reinstalled with rest of audio packages would explain why Pulseaudio fails to start correctly and why JACK cannot find module-jack-sink.so If configuration file default.pa has: load-module ...

Re: Problems with jack active patch not working correctly

It might be jack_mixer, but I don't have it available to install to confirm problem and possible solution if a fixed name is not included in jack_mixer start command, jack_mixer will start ok, but with a random identifier number in name the identifier number changes every time jack_mixer is launched...

Re: Optimize Manjaro just like Ubuentu Studio

The trouble was not the whole system coz i insist its very stable just some weird things happened as jack disappear more than crash im sure its related just to unstable and wrong rt kernel. There was a recent bug in one version of qjackctl [0.5.1] gui would crash, but JACK would still be running ok...
