Re: Mixbus32C v6

I must say that I don't get the use case for this dual mode. In which case can this be used ?

Flow Notion

How far can a single riff go on while still leaving some sense of freshness, shadowing the repetitions ? This is a piece I created about 3 years ago when I learned about the passing away of Jaki Liebezeit, drummer of the German band Can. It revolves about a guitar riff, with atmospheric and rhythmic...

Re: No Fire, No Storm, No Rain

The atmosphere of the piece is quite good. It expresses many aspects of a 'fire of love', how deep it can reach at times, with anything that reaches deep will stir emotions in many ways. It's expressed by the 'odd' rhythm and the haunting back vocals, and the choice of chords. And perhaps some uncer...

Re: Designated Landing Area

OK. I will also then upload a multitrack version tomorrow (later on today) so that you can switch off the drums/percs.

Re: Designated Landing Area

Can't see what's wrong with that groove - except I would use more real drum kit sounds. All right - and input from the drums as to where the direction could be taken. Re odd rhythms: Designated Landing Area is 5/4. Count it on the forward opened hi hat. I'd simply play with it, no problem at all. A...

Re: Designated Landing Area

I do not really know the difference with odd/regular rhythms. I play and go along with what a piece needs.

I am not an expert on these technical matters. I go with the flow.

Re: Designated Landing Area

Bitte nicht vergessen: The drums/percs are only for reference to me . This is a stereo track straight out of Bitwig, so please move the volume up. If you like it, the multitrack layout will enable to switch off the srums/percs. If you don't like it, it's also OK, keine Problem ! We'll look for somet...

Re: Designated Landing Area

Not easy to choose here either. I have now up to 719 'jams' with some on soundcloud. I think we should go by some, of either yours or mine, and find one which we feel it's all right for a start.

I'm rendering one right now and will upload it to sc.

Re: Designated Landing Area

Do you have a beat, a pattern ? To which I could add ? BTW, when I propose something, feel free to say no, it's not inspiring. It's OK. I have so many jams and improvs around ... In my propositions there will be drums/percs but only as a working key, not be taken for granted. How about keeping it ki...

Re: Designated Landing Area

OK. BTW, a source for free samples freesound @ https://freesound.org/

Another source of interesting samples at Gowler music. About 2£, as you wish. Lots of movie dialogs, etc... https://gowlermusic.com/

So let me see how to start this ... have no idea at the moment. :)

Re: Designated Landing Area

All right. BTW, "Designated Landing Area" is also quite good. Nice overall ambiance and mood. I'm not hearing Rush, but I hear Neil Peart in a way, this ability to mix technique with softness and expression. So let's establish bases. I have a dropbox account where I can put tracks in wav f...

Re: Designated Landing Area

Your Sapere Aude piece is quite good. Listening to it now.

Would you be interested to add drums to a piece that I'm creating ? In such a collaborative way that the piece itself could be modified according to your inspiration on drums ?

About soundcloud: I now upload only compressed files (ogg). I used to uplaod wav files, although I think now it's not worth it.

Re: Mixbus32C v6

I've been using v6 on mixes started with v5, no problem at all. This said, some people have reported problems, so there might very well be an update.

Re: Votre Majesté

I like it, it sounds sorta dub-by, I think there is potential but I'd like to hear a guitar that's more overdriven and audible. There's a band whose guitarist does the "drum and bass on the front" thing very well, Khruangbin. I suggest you give a listen to them (if you haven't already) an...
