Re: Bitwig - why doesn't it work with JACK/PipeWire MIDI/audio?
Then I see the Configuration drop-down, and that contains a device, which I select. I should have tried that before, but I wasn't looking to connect to an output device. That creates Input and Output busses that have that device. Now the Bitwig node does show up in RaySession, and connected to said...

Re: Bitwig - why doesn't it work with JACK/PipeWire MIDI/audio?
Well I thought it was common knowledge that Bitwig doesn't work with other JACK apps and steals access to MIDI hardware so other apps can't use it. I tried it myself yesterday too check and Bitwig doesn't show up in RaySession or Carla when running, so is that not a shared experience? I'm running P...

Re: Bitwig - why doesn't it work with JACK/PipeWire MIDI/audio?
Your post is pretty cryptic rant with all real information missing, but Bitwig works great with Jack audio, so maybe your problem is Pipewire?

Video effects controlled by music / tempo?
I would like to have video luminosity (and maybe saturation) to react on music tempo. And sure, possibly also some other similar effects. Is there some software for making such? I don't need real-time reaction, it is ok to do with batch-processing. Anc because music is self-made, it would be perfect...

Re: 80% of Artists on Spotify won't get paid anything.
Facts for who? No one is talking about what they are earning from spotify, so what's the point in caring about these hypothetical figures? Facts about mainstream ways to consume music. My point was 'Are artists in average doing better with spotify or with cd sales', and that does not need asking an...

Re: Which DAW to use with Surge XT ?
Hi, which DAW to use please with Surge XT ? I wish to automate a maximum of things in Surge (by example the pitch of each oscillator, and if possible each Surge control). I am a few used to Ardour but I can learn a new DAW. If you are familiar with Ardour, that works ok. In Bitwig you have more adv...

Re: 80% of Artists on Spotify won't get paid anything.
Looks like nobody having any corrections or objection, so I got facts right? For claim 'spotify does not pay enough for artists' here is some calculations. Assuming claim is about how things were better earlier, so lets compare to CD sale. At least my understanding is that digital album or song sale...

Comments, where are these calculations or assumptions are mislead? Or feel free to show your own calculations which present situation for big masses. https://virpp.com/hello/music-streaming-payouts-comparison-a-guide-for-musicians/ The streaming per song rate at Spotify is around .003cents per stre...

At least my understanding is that digital album or song sale has never been big thing, and there is reasons for this: copying plain mp3 f...

Sure, tiktok and other videos are why his song got so popular. But there were other people doing those videos, he did not need to do anything. If you really think some random guy can end up on billions of Chinese tik tok videos just chilling in his bedroom with no effort, then I have a bridge to se...

Re: Max may be coming to Linux!
Will Linux users be willing to pay for software? I'd say yes. I did (Modartt Pianoteq). But much more important: Will Linux users march into digital slavery? How much control will they accept? Will they accept a license number/file? I'd say yes. Will they accept a lincense number/file that is deliv...

Chance is not 0, check out for Janji: Heroes Tonigh. Song has 181M streams, with zero marketing, no label, anything. Had a look. That song is on a label called "NoCopyrightSounds" Their youtube channel has over 30 million subs and their songs have hundreds of millions of views there. Plus...

Re: 80% of Artists on Spotify won't get paid anything.
Bandcamp alone sells millions of digital albums a year and I have bought them myself. Streaming, you get what you pay for, low quality audio. Yeah, they have sold 14.2M albums last year. In scope of worldwide not too much, and no wonder I am at least not aware that any of my friends buying albums a...
