Re: Thank-a-developer day

Dudes and dudettes, we failed pretty hard  See you next year on 10/10, which is the first date suggested and can be read both ways, unlike the other dates. Thanks everyone for the ideas, insights and culture you shared :D Just out of interest, which developer would you have liked to thank? I t...

This second step is something I have to find out how to do. I would be looking for the magic line to copy and pa...

Re: Peavey USB-P DAC

Just noticed if I unplug the power supply from the laptop and run on battery all of the noise goes away and I have good clean audio. I Will research further. That speaks volumes, ha ha. Good 'ol interference from a wall outlet (50 Hz; or 60 Hz if you're an American). Anyway, I'm glad you've got it ...

Re: Peavey USB-P DAC

What software are you using? You are talking about "a live software synth setup", what exactly do you mean? You say "It is selectable". In what application? Problem is: does your software synth (a VST???) want to use Jack audio or ALSA? If you select your audio device in Qjackctl...

Re: FL Studio stopped working on Manjaro

I take it that the DAW you are to run is a Windows one and that you are using Wine to run it. When I google one of the the errors that you posted (err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection) then I get links to discussions about Wine. So you might have better luck in a Manjaro or Wine specific forum. Stra...

Re: Thank-a-developer day

10/10 would be a good date. So binary. We got the date, but we missed it by a tiny bit. Shall we go for January 10th (01/10 in the US, 10/01 elsewhere)? It's a nice date because if you OR it, it gives 11, but if you AND it, it gives 00. And since free software gives you freedom, it's always OR. Do ...

Re: Thank-a-developer day

Very good idea if you ask me! I'd like to thank Rui Nuno Capela, aka RNCBC for making Qtractor, a sequencer that's so close to a DAW that I consider it to be one. :)

How does one even obtain 96 kHz 24 bit music? I have a lot of CD's: they are 44,1 kHz 16 bit.

Re: Does Arturia Minilab work? (SOLVED - WORKS)

Hi everyone, I know I'm reviving quite an old thread... What's the status of the minilab line nowadays? I am willing to live without the arturia software but is getting all the functionality of the pads, and faders pretty simple or still a huge pain? Thanks in advance. See this topic . Depends on t...

Re: script for quick switch between audio interfaces via commandline

That's an awesome script! Thanks for sharing that Unfortunately I am primarily interested in switching the master instead of restarting jack completely. Do you know if that might be possible if you change the device based on the config file? I found a useable solution (thanks to Falktx for pointing...

Re: Yo, What's Up Everyone? MC Josiah here!!! New to Linux music production!!!

I installed KXStudio 14.04 on my little laptop Welcome to the forums! :) Unfortunately, KXStudio as a distribution or as a repository for general audio software is no more. It's only for certain VST's and certain software like Carla that the maintainer of the repo develops. See the News section on ...

Re: Using amidi to send SYSEX to old synthetizers

I do not know what the recommended way by Korg is to update Sysex on that machine. I sometimes try to use MidiOX (yep: Windows!) for that sort of stuff. But I do not have any experience w/ uploading Sysex, only w/ downloading it to my Linux PC.

P.S. Welcome to the forums. :)

Re: New KXStudio repos on an old 16.04?

[...] So, is it possible to upgrade some dependencies, like Python or what not, and to enable the new KX repos? The reason why I am asking this is because I would like to have updated music production apps, mainly Ardour, Guitarix, MuseScore, Hydrogen, DrumGizmo and of course, Carla/JACK The all ne...
