Re: Discussion about Cakewalk X3 Producer native on Linux -

This could be interesting, I've never used Cakewalk but wouldn't mind now I'm not using Ableton. I saw this on that site: Linux needs at least one proffessional DAW for start This is revealing, I think most people who haven't dug in to Linux audio too much get put off because there isn't an all in o...

Not going to comment on any of the other comments posted but looks like a good package to me, lots of info provided which is great.

Re: Reverse audio in Qtractor?

No problem, I thought that was the case, thanks for the answer though. Do you have any plans to add that feature sometime in the future?

In that case would you consider a context menu option to locate file in a browser so it's easy to jump to it?

Reverse audio in Qtractor?

I've been trying to use Ardour but I'm getting frustrated with it and wants to try moving to Qtractor instead. Is it possible to reverse audio files? If you can't then what is the best/easiest way around this? I've got a feeling the answer will be locate the file and reverse/save to new file in Auda...

Re: Possible to get KXstudio repos in Manjaro?

Hmm well that's a shame. Maybe I won't go for Manjaro in that case. I noticed that I can get Cadence from AUR but it's all the other stuff that would maybe be an issue, Ardour 3 (compiled), all the synths and fx. I suppose they must all be available from the Manjaro repo or from AUR but there is som...

Re: Possible to get KXstudio repos in Manjaro?

Sorry, I think I meant enabling ppas for the plugins etc, not repos (this was assuming I wouldn't be able to use the KX repository).

Manjaro is Arch based so would I still use the Debian ones?

Possible to get KXstudio repos in Manjaro?

I'm looking in to changing to Manjaro soon and the one thing left to look in to is whether I can access the kxstudio stuff when if do make the switch. I noticed this comment on the website: "Users on other linux distributions should enable the repositories that best match their distro. Remember...

Re: Music player frustrations

rhythmbox/banshee/gmusicplayer work for me. rhythmbox - I can't remember what put me off this one. From screenshots it looks like you can't browse by Album Artist...how do you find a compilation album by various artists if you want to play the whole album? banshee - I think this has the exact same ...

Music player frustrations

This is the one thing that has been a constant source of frustration for me since moving exclusively to xubuntu a few months ago. I came from Windows using MusicBee which is an incredibly powerful music player. Now I am using gnu/linux it seems almost impossible to find a good music player with dece...

Re: 3.11-lowlatency kernel

Interesting. I'm in the same boat as Thad E Ginathom I think. I updated to 3.8 the other day and it knocked out my AMD driver (as well as my wifi driver). I think I have the Mobility HD 4500 card (or 4200, I don't remember right now) and the update caused my laptop fan to be on full almost constantl...
