Re: SevenDelay

I've just built these and they seem to work well. The vst3 download wasn't recognised by reaper but the regular built vst are seen.

I love the delay, I've been wanting one like that for ages. It's a crazy one, some of the sounds you can get out of it mad!

Thank you!

Re: midi browser

Deadbeef can play midi files and has a file system plugin so I guess that could count as a browser

Re: cadence and pulseaudio not working well

Yes, you want to enable the option in qjackctl to start when opened. Then you can add qjackctl as a start up program - I haven't used Cinnamon but it should be fairly easy to do. If you had cadence installed then you probably have the pulseaudio-module-jack package installed and it should all just w...

Re: cadence and pulseaudio not working well

If you are using the ppa then you don't need to compile it.

Just:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rncbc/bionic
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install qjackctl

Perhaps you need to sudo apt upgrade if you already had it installed.

Re: cadence and pulseaudio not working well

There is a ppa for the latest git version of you are running a debian based distro - https://launchpad.net/~rncbc/+archive/ubuntu/bionic Not sure why you are getting that error, usually that would mean you are executing make from the wrong directory but your prompt suggests that you were running in ...

Re: cadence and pulseaudio not working well

Yeah it's pretty easy to set that up. The simplest way is to keep jack running all the time and have pulseaudio bridged to jack so you don't have to keep starting and stopping jack. The latest git version of qjackctl has a more intuitive connection manager similar to Catia and Patchage. I think this...

Hey, no I didn't find a solution. As far as I can tell this is intended behaviour, or at least not considered a bug, so I gave up. I use qjackctl now instead and have had zero problems.

Well, everyone in the context I mentioned it. If I have already paid for it then no one is missing out, it can be easier for me to test and means that I would be more likely to continue being a customer if I can quickly be sure that the plugin can work.

Re: ILOK, eLicenser & Waves plugins....

If it's a choice between messing around with ILOK/eLisenser then I know which I would try. Which one may contain a virus or malware is a matter of opinion. That said, I've never had any problems with viruses in almost 20 years of using VSTs so it's not clear what you're referring to exactly. Scaremo...

Re: change qjackctl connection style on manjaro

Can't you just use the aur package and set the parameter? It must take only a minute or so to compile on anything but real toaster (assuming there is a switch to change it).

Reaper 6 released

https://www.reaper.fm

The changelog is pretty big so look here for everything.

Looks like a big update, the new theme is beautiful. Shame the options/dialogue windows are not also themed though.

A video about the theme change.

Re: ableton

What level of performance has ableton live? I need a software-analog of Akai Professional . Is there something like this? Or i'm looking for an un-existing thing? You have linked to a midi controller. This can be used like any other midi controller to do what you want. Ableton Live has control scri...

Re: ableton

Bitwig is $$ but there is a free 8 track version out there somewhere. I got very excited and downloaded it but doesn't let me activate it, presumably because I don't have a serial. I think this is (at least now) like Live Lite that you get free when you buy a midi keyboard or soundcard. Bitwig Stud...
