Re: Looking for vibrating strings synth
Hmmm sounds like it could be some sort of stringed instrument sample like Guitar or even Banjo processed with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch http://hypermammut.sourceforge.net/paulstretch/ I'm not sure if this is the best up to date link for the program. I think it might be in the KX studio repositori...

Re: Polarity Inversion (invert phase, reverse polarity, etc.
You can invert the phase in ardour with the little O with / over it in the mixer. this will cancel out in mono though so I would use the stereo delay trick they mention in that article.

Re: Why I'm giving up on KXStudio
For me just putting the KX repos on Jessie and the Liquorix kernel worked like a charm. It's also worth noting that in my experience FalkTX usually responds to any issues reported on this forum faster than the support teams for a lot of non-free software. Not to mention all the amazing stuff that co...

I'm getting this error when I try and start Jack ERROR: firewire ERR: Could not prepare streaming device! along with other stuff. I think it has to do with a firmware update needed for my Saffir...

Re: Getting new machine
Hmmm. I just installed Debian 8.2 today and tried to add the kx repositories and I get
kxstudio-repos pre-depends on software-properties-common
software-properties-common is not installed.
Whats this all about? Should I just look for that in the Jessie repositories?

Re: Tips for new laptop
Im using the T530 with expresscard slot. It has the backlit keyboard and no glare screen and core i5 (dual core) I can run a really low buffer size if I'm just manipulating audio and a few plugins or recording. If I'm running any softsynths or a lot of intense processing I use 1024 samples and get n...

Re: Kick starting creativity
ganja :D jk Yeah having all kinds of tools can sometimes be overwhelming. I was feeling uninspired in music for a while there myself. For me what helped was stepping back from it for a bit. I went through this mental process where I told myself I don't have to do music at all if its frusterating. I ...

I have a 70's Rogers drum set and some decent enough mics. Maybe I could get some of those sounds if anyone is interested.

Re: New AV software in Debian 8 (Jessie)
Looks like a nice list. Would it make sense to wait until Jessie becomes the new stable to install it? My system is getting a little tore up from updates and I like the idea of running just plain old Debian stable.

Re: Kxstudio global equalizer
Couldn't you use a session handler or carla or something to always connect everything through whatever equalizer you want (like calf)? and just start with that each time.

For you're infromation, it's harder than you think to play drums wearing sandals (especially when they are not tied!) Us drummers deserve some respect!

Re: Here's soMe music I made
Throwback to when I first started making music with Linux. I think we used Traverso Daw for this one along with some Phasex, AMsynth and some various effects and soundfonts.
