Re: Startup for Qt Creator project? or equivalent

Yeah, I used GNU/Linux nearly 20 years for coding. Then I had to buy stock computer which has Windows 8: GNU/Linux did not install 4+ years ago. Now I have GNU/Linux installed but BIOS looses the boot option - only Windows available. Sad. I should have Windows program to rewrite the Debian boot opti...

Startup for Qt Creator project? or equivalent

I have Qt Creator installed in Windows, but I have no idea how to start an audio editor project. Years ago in GNU/Linux, I coded a simple audio editor with two processes: one for audio engine, and one for editor which did send command messages to the audio engine. In GNU/Linux, all was trivial to do...

Re: [ANN] ZynAddSubFX 3.0.0 - Zyn-Fusion

Wow. Just pay if you can afford. Open source community needs this kind of modern GUIs.

ZynAddSubFX has always been top-sounding synth, and it has large set of good presets. Massive, Virus, ZynAddSubFX - just equally jaw-dropping.

vocal booth design for domestic use?

Youtube has videos on building own vocal booth for domestic use. Many builds to small closet, or builds a small vocal booth. Then someone says small booth is bad and it is better to use large room covered with acoustic panels, like in pro music studios guess. Funniest used sleeping blanket to cover ...

Re: turkish/arabic synth sounds

Piano roll is not enough. I would like to draw pitch curves in time-line, and feed those to synth. MIDI may not be good enough.

Re: turkish/arabic synth sounds

I think suggesting to use LMMS just is not helpful. We have had samplers in GNU/Linux for long time already. LMMS does not change the situation. I have old soundsets of turkish/arabic arrangers. They are samples. While I believe the sets were self-made and legal, we need to create our own. If there ...

turkish/arabic synth sounds

Turkish or arabic versions of arranger keyboards costs 800+ euros. Therefore I'm very interested in what is available in open source / free community. Zynaddsubfx is top synth. I'm trying to find diagram/parameters for Casio CZ101 sound Zurna so that we could implement it to Zyn. I hear this Zurna i...

Re: [ANN] ZynAddSubFX 2.5.4 - The “Alambradas” Release

Physical modeling? Someone made, at year 2000 or so, a fantastic flute physical model/demo with Csync (now under hood of Reaktor). The post should be in music-dsp archives. The flute did not sound poor digital, nor bad like sampled flutes. The parameters should be directly controllable at the time-l...

Re: New realistic singing synthesis software, do you want Linux version?

How is this open source linne project progressing? Could not find anything.

Autotune/vocaloid type manipulator would be nice. Extensive manipulation of vocal recordings. Vocal analysis for re-creation with speech synth; not ipa, but pitch/formant curves etc

Re: a bit of a Bitwig update

Well, I succeeded to make a midi track with qwerty midi keyboard, and get a sound. I could not get the sound quality or performance / expression I did hear in a song. If Bitwig or Ableton Live has some kind of curve tool, a la Absynth (never tested, though), then I really should have continued the l...

Re: a bit of a Bitwig update

What is special in Bitwig? I tested Ableton Live but really could not do much there. I use Audacity extensively but would like to see improvements there, even on basic recording, editing, and mixing, which are Audacity's main tasks.

FaustLive suggestions

I'm looking for modular synth similar to Reaktor. Windows; GNU/Linux distributions does not install to my Windows 8 :( FaustLive Windows feedback: (1) Registration to Windows Visual C++ is required and creation does not work for that reason. Note: I already have some Visual C++, and I also have Qt C...

Re: LMMS 1.0.0 is finally out

Hello. Using LMMS on Windows 8, sorry :) I seem to end up situations where no software works for me as I want. LMMS fails on the following: I want recreate a song. I place the song as an audio file to one track, and then start recreating on the rest of the tracks. The problem is that if I move the p...

Re: MVerb - A Free Open Source Reverb

Is it fault of ladspa that mverb sounds bad for you? Original release thread has a plenty of positive feedback, and the reverb algorithm originates from Lexicon. Somebody should check this issue. Users should just power on the plugin and select a preset, not thinker how to get the plugin sound good....
