Re: A question concerning the KXStudio repositories

Thank you, falkTX. I was supposed to write some news about this, but I suck for this kind of thing... I'll try again to write something about this situation tonight. I look forward to that news. Now, I must decide between debian >= 8 (jessie) and ubuntu >= 14.04. It is nice to have a few weeks to fi...

Re: KXStudio recent updates - any problems?

The update from 12.04.1 -> 12.04.3 is quite big, one of the reasons why we need the new ISOs so bad. Usually the updates end up removing some essential packages, try this: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install -f sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo apt-get install kscreen sudo apt-get install kxstudi...

Re: KXStudio recent updates - any problems?

I just ran the updates (via synaptic) on a kxstudio12.04.1 --> 12.04.3 LTS AMD64bit installation. I now find that I cannot logout using right-click on desktop and selecting "logout". I see a brief flash of the "spinning hourglass-like" spinning orbs, then get a cursor on a blank,...

Re: instrument and staff learning software

Nootka can do this. You would use a microphone with your sax. http://www.linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=11443&hilit=nootka An earlier version is in the repostiory for ubuntu/KXStudio but there is a later version, and a new version is coming soon. check http://nootka.sourceforge.net/

Re: Hey from Nashville

Hi, Tom. You might want to try the booting with the KXStudio live DVD. You wouldn't have to install anything unless you wanted to, and it would let you see how your system works when it's configured properly. That is, of course, assuming KXStudio works OK on your system hardware. It works for me. If...

Re: Who here can master music for money?

I have a few questions. What do you wish to accomplish with this mastered piece of music? Of what genre is the music? What is the instrumentation? How was the source material recorded? Of what format is the source material? Is there a mix of 'songs' or pieces with all instruments mixed together? Or ...

Re: building a rudimentary EUB (upright stick bass)

You are free to design and build at will. If you want what you are building to feel and play like a 'real' upright, it's probably going to be less of a headache to find a used upright for sale. Maybe start with a broken one and build onto it. You can find piezo elements for use in acoustic pickups o...

What in god's name are you going on about?? Did you lose a link to a MASM support forum? ::rolls eyes::
I think your fundamental timing is a bit off.

And, yes, I did indeed [choose to] lose my link to MASM. But I prefer to think of it differentially.
