Re: My standalone Guitarix is broken

I don't know what you expect. Question is, does the same procedure then last year, ah, last time, works? If so than it looks like a issue with pipewire. I use pipewire myself on my board, but, when doing audio stuff I use good old jack and not the pipewire replacement. I am not criticizing, but jus...

Re: My standalone Guitarix is broken

It was all connected well. I tried reinstalling it, still nothing. Then I decided to try disconnecting and reconnecting and now all is well. Thanks anyway!

My standalone Guitarix is broken

Ever since I upgraded to Ubuntu 22.10, which uses Pipewire as default, the standalone Guitarix app doesn't work properly. No matter what effect I add or what parameter I change, save for the head controls, nothing changes. The plugins in Ardour work great, though, and actually sound better than befo...

Re: What notation editor do you use and why?

I tried MuseScore 4, it's nice, but I would say it's not quite what the folks on their forum announced it will become, i.e. a full-fledged DAW+notation program. As of now, the Muse Sounds suite is not complete. If, say, you want to use an acoustic bass or a drum set, the sounds used are from the sta...

Hydrogen's Round Robin feature

How am I supposed to make it work? For example, I have 4 rr samples at the velocity of 70, another four at 90, another at 120; Should I arrange them like this in Hydrogen's instrument editing window (the layers menu):

70_RR1
70_RR2
70_RR3
70_RR4
90_RR1
90_RR2

etc. or

70_RR1
90_RR1
120_RR1 etc.?

Re: Spontini-Editor (a GUI assistant for making complex scores with Lilypond)

Hello! I read the post and the comments and I am thrilled with what I have read! I use notation software mainly for composing and transcribing, but I sure like how lilypond scores look in the end. I haven't tried Spontini yet, so I have a few questions about some features. If these features are not ...

Is there documentation or manual for Muse

I downloaded the latest Appimage, and so far I like Muse. But, is there some documentation or manual pdf that I could use? For example, do you add notes in the score editor with the mouse only, or is there some more sophisticated and efficient way to do that?

Strange behavior with SMDrums loaded in liguidsfz or sfizz

I have downloaded the SMDrums sfz version, but when I load the instrument to liquidsfz or sfizz, the samples are played octave higher or so. When I play the samples individually in Ardour as wav files, they sound just fine. What is the reason behind this, and how do I fix it?

Re: Guitar sound always distorted.

I had the same problem. Same soundcard, same computer, but I had to turn the volume knob on my guitar quite far back to get a clean sound, and then it would sound thin. I found this solution: https://oldschoolmetalhead.com/2019/02/21/tech-support-build-the-transient-tamer/ I also hooked up a resisto...

Re: Guitarix for professional use

tramp I am sure Guitarix is getting better and better and I am looking forward for the next Ubuntu Studio update that will bring the new version. So, don't get me wrong, Guitarix is a great software. As I said above, for a clean jazzy sound, I like it better than Bias and Amplitube, even though the...

Re: Guitarix for professional use

There a days when Guitarix (the standalone app) sounds amazing in combination with various cab sims...and then I mess all those nice impressions by plugging into my real 25-30w custom tube combo, which is not that special, but still, there is a world of difference. I made an experiment, some week ag...

How to make Karoryfer Bear Sax work for Linux Sampler

I found this interesting sax virtual instrument. Nice samples in there. Originally it's designed for Sforzando. Is there a way to fix the code somehow, so that it works for Linux Sampler?
