Totalchaos - OpenSource Music 2014 - Episode 1 - "Ambient"
Hi fellas, I like to share my new track. The interesting thing is that this time, instead of audio clip, i made a video screenshot of my desktop, while the DAW is running. Hope that this idea will have continuity  Software in use: Rosegarden, Whysynth, Qsynth, Hexter http://youtu.be/-1MClsWpxHw

Please endorse dyne:bolic for EU funding (CHEST)
Just saw this post in dyne:bolic mailing list and thought that it should be a good idea to share it here as well

Re: Anyone interested on a 14.04-based ISO?
The issue with USB sticks is still persistent. Both gnome-disks and dd failed to produce a bootable system.

Re: Anyone interested on a 14.04-based ISO?
PS: @falkTX One advice if you let me. If you are gonna make new KXStudio distro, this time keep it simpler. Purge out any fancy third party repos, (cough...kubuntu-backports...cough..cough) that you don't have direct control of. Better be something more simple, but harder to break, like just the mai...

Re: Anyone interested on a 14.04-based ISO?
Wow, such (k)Ubuntu hatred all over the forums. Of course that a out-of-the-box pre-configured multimedia distro with long term support is needed. There are young new users coming up and they need to have this option, the way i had Pyredyne and 64Studio when i made my first steps on Gnu/Linux ground...

Debian Sid based Multimedia Distribution is something very needed to exist. Good luck, or as my old friend once said: "Live long and prosper"

Re: Success of Kxstudio Install Over Mint Causes Almost no S
Another workaround is to kill pulseaudio at startup (you don't actually need to uninstall it), and route Alsa around Jack using the great Cadence suite. Its a little tricky because by default some programs (like gstreamer)are configured to use pulseaudio OOTB. Also as far as i know "Loopback&qu...

Re: multimedia buttons without pulseaudio
Ok, i did it in gnome 3 via costum keyboard shortcuts. For fluxbox on my desktop i'll do it with the 'keys' file Same configuration here :) (Arch Linux). But in Fluxbox i use "volumeicon". It has multimedia keys setting in the preferences menu. In Gnome shell i just let Pulseaudio exist. ...

Re: multimedia buttons without pulseaudio
Of course you can. But if you want some assistance, you should give more details, like Desktop Environment, Distribution etc. Actually, if you are not a Jack (more precisely Jack1) user, than i don't see any valuable reason to remove PA at all cost. Pulseaudio in 2014 has nothing to do with PA in 20...

Re: What's new?
Nothing significant. An app called Luppp and a bunch of new plugins. Anyway if you choose Tangostudio, you will have the recent versions of those programs (+Non and Qtractor) You should add the tangostudio-dev repository. For Clementine you must use the .deb from their official site. You can try Deb...

Re: youtube sound
By looking at your screenshots, i guess i found the nature of your problem. You are having too many outputs. You should limit the number of outputs to 2 (stereo). You can to this from Cadence jack driver configuration. VLC is having the habit to connect to all outputs, when a multichannel video is pl...

Re: Old Pictures (unplugged)
Great song Glen. A perfect example of, how important the good vocals are.
PS: If you send me the working files, i can make a "plugged remix" of it. I really have lack of good vocal tracks lately.
My apologies if it sounded a bit insolently.
